I always knew I wanted to go into business for myself but I didn’t know what the business would be until I started photography in April of 2022. Once I got well into my major, I discovered that I was talented in the area and it was something that I actually enjoyed to do. I then began do get into video editing and production as a whole. I’ve evolved into a creator. Once I graduated from Savannah State University in 2024, I obtained a Bachelor’s degree in digital and multimedia mass communications. Since then, I’ve focused on expanding my talents and getting my name out to the public. Read more>>

I practiced in a community health clinic before moving on to mental health where I have a serious passion for helping people. Prior to moving to Savannah 4 years ago, I worked at a small local NP owned primary care practice for about 5.5 years. I love helping people meet their health and wellness goals, manage chronic disease, treat their acute issues and most importantly, educate people! Lifestyle management education is a huge part of how I like to help folks achieve their goals, whether it’s improving their A1C, losing weight, quitting smoking, or just learning to be a healthier version of themselves, nutrition, stress management, exercise and self-care are key. Read more>>

Then, in the summer of 2024, I discovered Sea Love Hilton Head—a small business with a big heart. During a heartfelt conversation with one of its owners, Sarah, I immediately recognized a reflection of my own passions. Here was an opportunity to bring joy to customers in a new, creative way through scent blending. I saw the chance to develop “scent stylists” just as I once nurtured hair stylists, all while supporting the business’s success in an industry that felt like a natural extension of my life’s work. Read more>>

We always like to joke that it was a smooth ride because we really just rode the waves early on – flowing with the natural evolution and progression of how the business grew and the next steps to make. It was once we started having more clear and concise long term goals that the issues arose – staff turnover, legal pitfalls and curveballs, and the ever-evolving landscape around aesthetic services. Our biggest struggle is always maintaining the core mission and values as you scale. The more humans that get involves, the more likely that is to get diluted down. This is why finding the right people and team to carry the mission has been paramount in our success. Read more>>

Growing up, I enjoyed playing music and creating art. At one point, I had to choose what I wanted to study and eventually pursue in life. After taking a bit of time preparing for a music school, I realized I loved music simply as a hobby. I eventually discovered that my values and outlook in life aligned more with the field of design, which led me to study Graphic Design at Drexel University. My undergraduate experience helped me grow my interests in brand identity and find creative ways to solve problems with the support of my colleagues and mentors. Read more>>

We knew we wanted to something that allowed us to continue our duties as moms but also felt a need to serve others in a way that was meaningful. After months of weighing the pros and cons, we quickly found out we shared a passion for creating events for our friends and family. Which is seemingly funny, because we met through PTO/PTA planning events for the school. Through organizing school events, parties, showers, and vacation bible school festivities it naturally paved the way for us to establish an event company in Statesboro. We take immense pride in coordinating events, from small decorations to large-scale occasions. Read more>>

For the most part, my journey has gone smoothly, though it hasn’t been without its risks. Leaving behind my hometown, family, and friends at such a young age was undeniably difficult, but I quickly found a strong sense of community at my school. My teachers became incredible mentors, the dorm staff felt like family, and I formed friendships that were truly sister-like. Of course, as a photographer, I’ve faced moments of self-doubt and struggled with comparison, but the guidance and support from those around me have helped make the path a lot smoother. Read more>>

A sudden interest in fine art toward the end of school made me realize I wanted to be part of a creative industry. I explored everything from shoe design to cinematography. As my peers began applying to universities, panic set in. Inspired by my sister’s journey as a fashion design student in Italy, I followed in her footsteps and moved to Florence to study at Polimoda, completing an associate’s degree in fashion styling. Read more>>

I was bored at my coding job a few years ago and found some abstract painting videos on YouTube that kind of inspired me to grab a brush and some canvases to see what I could do. I played with a few different mediums over a couple of years and eventually decided to try to paint a shoe. I learned how to properly clean them and seal them, picked up some leather paint and a pair of Forces, and created a glow in the dark drip design. It turned out okay, but I figured I could do better. My next pair I painted to look like a box of Chips Ahoy cookies. That’s probably still my favorite pair because it opened up a lot of opportunities for me. Read more>>

Growing up, I spent my weekends on the sidelines of my siblings soccer and lacrosse games, tucked behind my parents’ lawn chairs occupied with my sketchbook! I had art books with step-by-step instructions for drawing animals (one of my favorite subjects to draw). I would spend hours immersed in learning how to draw. During this time in elementary school, I had special permission to stay in the art room during lunch and recess, and got to work on extra projects with my art teacher, Ms. Baxter. She was very encouraging of my interest in art at a young age, and would submit my art projects to be hung up in local libraries and banks! I think that having someone do that for me made me feel like I had good potential for art. Read more>>

Another challenge was the physical expansion. Building out a full location while still operating daily services was exhausting. We also dealt with unexpected issues like ordering spa beds that weren’t ergonomically right and having to refund them, not enough hot water for 8 beds, all while juggling waitlists and renovations. But every challenge pushed us to get sharper, stronger, and more committed to the long-term vision. Read more>>

I was born and raised in Aurora, Colorado. I always had a love for art starting at a young age. I honed these schools in high school, leading set design in our theatre productions, and taking every art class available to me. Naturally I wanted to continue my passions into college, which brought me to the Savannah College of Art and Design. I came in as an Illustration major, but quickly realized my true passion was seeing my designs being brought to life in a collaborative setting, so I switched to Production Design with a concentration in Set Design and Art Direction, and I’ve been doing that for 3 years now and loving every moment. Read more>>

7 books later- the “journaling” exercise that my dad encouraged to begin with, presented an opportunity for me to finally exhale. It’s as if God gave me writing to put to words what I can’t out loud at first. My first books were very much centered on self-development -like protocols, but further into my journey I realized that any self-development hack that doesn’t lead to spiritual dependence, doesn’t get you very far. I turned to a faith-development approach; recognizing, that my writing could change a season of someone’s life, but writing in a way that encouraged them to go back to their Heavenly Father could change their entire life. Read more>>

Absolutely not smooth! I have made a lot of mistakes along the way with setting up my website from using the wrong email hosting platform to completely ruining my website by adding one small snippet of code. It’s been a really rewarding journey though because I am constantly learning new things and there is fun in the process because of all the learning! Social media is also not for the faint of heart. It can be grueling and you can feel like you are never going to have your moment but I am trying to find the joy in creating vs. caring about the response to it since I love making content and that’s really all it’s about! Read more>>

As my friends progressed in SCAD, a lot of them studying fashion related majors, they needed a photographer to capture their stuff, so I took it upon myself to photograph basically every fashion project I could get in front of, and that was when I discovered my love for portraiture and fashion photography. Earlier this year I was asked to photography New York Fashion Week, and it gave me the confidence to say I didn’t need a degree in order to turn this into a living. I started emailing local photographers asking to work under them, and a wedding photographer in the area reached back out and we’ve been working together ever since. Read more>>

Even in middle school, I loved making videos everything from Musical.ly clips to YouTube vlogs. While I was often bullied for being different, creating content became an outlet for self expression and joy. When COVID hit during my freshman year of high school, and we were all stuck inside, I leaned into creativity more than ever backyard iPhone photoshoots with my sister, TikTok dances, and dreaming about being part of the Hype House. That time helped me realize how much I loved digital storytelling and being part of online communities. Read more>>
