Meet Jessica Mock of Southern Sugaring & Spa

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jessica Mock. Jessica and their team share their story with us below:

Southern Sugaring & Spa was founded in 2015 by esthetician Jessica Mock, who has been an expert in sugaring hair removal for over ten years. While she’d never imagined herself as a spa owner, she saw a need in the industry for her niche expertise. The spa grew from a solo operation in a single room to a team of service providers in a nearly 4000 square foot space, and Mock continued to apply her unique perspective to expanding the spa’s menu of luxury services.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Business ownership is endlessly challenging, as every entrepreneur can attest to. Mock is no exception, and between location moves, the two-month COVID-19 closure last year, producing of their skincare line Top Shelf, employee walkouts, and prioritizing a consistent client experience throughout all of it, Southern Sugaring has experienced its fair share of challenges.

“As a business owner, it seems to me that if you embrace your role as a kind of crisis manager, you’re better prepared for those obstacles,” says Mock. “No day is perfect, but the most important thing is that the client only sees your best. No matter what Southern Sugaring is experiencing, we always put the client experience at the forefront of our priorities. When we do that, everything else falls into place.”

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
