Today we’d like to introduce you to Chris and Jami Maudlin.
Hi Chris and Jami, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My husband and I started Sip n’ Shop Tours in Savannah, GA January 2019. I grew up in the area and love everything about it! Chris and I noticed there was a lack of tours that were geared towards women groups. With my love of shopping, and supporting local boutiques, and the city’s open container policy, we developed Sip n’ Shop Savannah Tours! We have been fortunate enough to expand our tour to other cities, Charleston, SC, and Nashville, TN.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I wish! No, it has not been a smooth road, but it is definitely getting better! I think the biggest obstacle is COVID. Being a small business, the cancellations and lack of traveling really had an impact on our business. I will say, things are looking up better than we could have ever imagined!
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
We own Sip n’ Shop Tours. My husband and I created this tour to support local businesses and to give women something fun and unique to do on their trips. We take groups around the Historic District to local boutiques, where they get discounts and wine along the way. There is nothing like this tour anywhere else! We created the name and concept; we have also gone through the necessary steps to make Sip n’ Shop our own Trademark! This is our baby and we could not be more proud of what we have developed. Although we started in Savannah, we are taking Sip n’ Shop to other cities.

I did just finish two really good books, The Silent Patient and Verity.
