Exploring Life & Business with Katie Black of Katie’s Travel Agency

Today we’d like to introduce you to Katie Black.

Hi Katie, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I started Katie’s Travel Agency in 2018. Originally, it was a way for me to stay home with my son, but I quickly realized that being a Travel Agent is what I am meant to be.

I love to travel and I love planning travel for myself and others. My obsession started in high school when my English teacher took a group of us to England. A couple of years later, I studied abroad in Cyprus and visited ten other countries while I was over there.

My goal is to visit three new places each year. This year those three have been Cozumel, Savannah, and most recently, New Orleans. I travel to someplace tropical every January and tour several resorts while I am there.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Being a Travel Agent always has its ups and downs, but 2020 and 2021 have made for an extremely bumpy road. Between the world shutting down to covid regulations to canceling everything for 2020 and constant changes, the last one and a half years have been a wild ride. 2022 looks to be a promising year and I truly hope my clients are able to travel.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Katie’s Travel Agency?
I am the owner of Katie’s Travel Agency. I am a Travel Agent who specializes in destination weddings, honeymoons, and beach vacations. My goal is to make my client’s experience as stress-free as possible.

I create custom experiences for each client based on what they want to do and what I feel is a good match for them. I take care of everything from flights and hotels to insurance and excursions.

How do you define success?
Success to me means happiness. Success is loving what you do and doing it well.
