Today we’d like to introduce you to Pranav Patel.
Hi Pranav, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.
The Taco Stache boys started out as childhood friends. We all grew up in the Savannah area. We all share the same interests and passions: Good food, watching sports, and hosting parties. Our common love for showing our friends a good time led to an idea to start our own neighborhood restaurant and bar to take the party to everyone.
Why limit ourselves to just showing our friends a great time when we could do it for the entire community? And let’s be honest, who doesn’t love tacos? It was at that moment, The Taco Stache was born. Why the “stache” you may ask? We believe mustaches are a great form of self-expression. They have a rich history dating back to the earliest civilizations, as well as diverse multi-cultural backgrounds.
We draw inspiration from cuisines around the world and incorporate them into our menu. That’s why we like to identify as a fusion taco spot, not traditional. We also decided that we would add lots of TVs to give our guests the opportunity to watch the games while dining with us. We do live in the south, after all, so sports are a way of life to us. All of this combined to give our guests a unique dining experience not found elsewhere in town.
We want everyone that visits The Stache to feel like they’re at home. Just sit back, relax and enjoy some delicious, made-to-order tacos and hand-crafted cocktails. We’ve been open for over two years and wouldn’t be here without the amazing support of our local community and the hard work of our awesome staff.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Since we are not a franchise or chain, the entire playbook was created from scratch. While we enjoyed our freedom to innovate and create as we went along, it didn’t come without obstacles. We listened very carefully to all of the feedback we received from our guests, staff, and vendors, and made adjustments almost daily.
It wasn’t easy, but we constantly tweaked our model until we felt we got it just right. We are nowhere near perfect, but we continue to push each day to be a better version of ourselves than the day before.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
After graduating from college, I have worked in various jobs and industries ranging from financial planning and marketing technology to restaurants chains and franchises. People would say, I am best known for being a hard worker that likes to have fun while doing it and that I have the ability to hold a conversation with just about anyone.
I am most proud of the team that we have built at The Taco Stache. We still have almost half of our original employees that started the business with us over two years ago. It is their hard work and effort that produces some of the best food and drinks in the game! I think what sets me apart from others is that I have a relentless pursuit of always striving to be better, do better.
This translates to me pushing my team to never accept things as is but to continue to improve. Don’t ever settle.
How can people work with you, collaborate with you, or support you?
We are easily reachable via our social media outlets or through our website. We are always looking to collaborate with others in our community. That’s part of our DNA.
