Life & Work with Bradford Moody

Today we’d like to introduce you to Bradford Moody.

Hi Bradford, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself
Born and raised in Louisiana and Texas, I spent my formative years in New York and London. I have degrees and have studied at Rice University in Houston, the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York, and the Architectural Association in London. I spent 12 years practicing architecture and design. People Magazine and W both named me a “designer to watch.” My recent incarnation as a painter/ designer has garnered press comments of my “bmoodyart” work as “evocative and thought-provoking.”

Today, I draw on a vast network of professional and personal contacts to promote Savannah real estate nationwide and to attract a high-profile clientele. Considered a master of promotion and marketing, I also have an eye for architecture and urban trends, all of which have allowed me to establish a loyal client base.

I bring a special combination of expertise to my clients, which includes extensive knowledge of marketing, design, architecture, and preservation.

While living in Savannah, I have been able to utilize my design talent by renovating several homes and investment properties, an insight that has become invaluable to my clients. A proud resident of Savannah’s National Landmark Historic District, I am an active participant in the lifestyle I promote. My hobbies include running in Forsyth Park, collecting folk art, and savoring the downtown restaurant scene.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
When the market collapsed in 2009, dealing with buyers who were overextended was incredibly painful. The current obstacle we’re going through is inflated opinions of value on the seller’s side due to the lack of inventory available. As far as developing a team, the usual growing pains of developing a small business.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I developed a group of agents that can be virtually interchangeable with one another. Every group member is cross-trained on contracts, marketing, negotiations, dealing with sellers, and dealing with buyers… My thought was that if each group member was trained equally, it would provide the best-guaranteed client relations – 100% availability. We specialize in the Historic Districts of Savannah, waterfront properties, and investment properties.

We are known for all of the above, having a thorough knowledge of pricing, rehabbing properties with the appropriate network, trending in developing communities, etc. I am most proud of being consistently ranked in the top 25 agents out of the approximate 2,400 in the county.

What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
It is the quintessential small southern city… Incredibly walkable, charmingly historic, open, and welcome to all who move here. What do we like least? That it is a quintessential small southern city and moves at a relaxed pace. i.e. Commonly known as southern time. Which is also one of its best attributes and can be very attractive.
