Today we’d like to introduce you to Dallas Johnson.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I have always had a special place for Animals in my heart… but I took a little detour earlier in life doing Modeling and Acting in Savannah, then Atlanta, Los Angeles, and Austin.
I moved home after a breakup. I worked for a Pet Sitting Company for a month and was like I can do this and I can do this much better. So, I made cards, made adverts, went to vet offices, pet stores, and one thing lead to another.
Almost nine years later, I have been super blessed! Two different local Magazines voted Beat Pet Sitting for 2021 and Most Trusted Pet sitter 2019 for South Magazine. I love what I do. It’s not a job. It’s my life.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
No struggles to be honest. I offer Loyal Reward Programs and Referral Programs. All word of mouth. Again, I have always started my own little companies growing up as a child and teenager. So, I’ve always known that I would thrive in this world as soon as I found the perfect need. TRUST is number one for me. I have earned the trust and the respect of the animal and the client in 9 years. That is vital to my business plan. I have amazing loyal clients and have developed a lasting trusting relationship with them that’s why I have great reviews and long term clients. Anyone who thinks differently DEFINITELY doesn’t know me personally. A lot of people like to judge and create false narratives. And that’s a shame…I would rather spend my days with animals than people any day of the week because of it. People can disappoint. Animals don’t and are all LOVE and that’s what we both need.
We’ve been impressed with Peaceful Pets of Savannah, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I love to take dogs on Adventure Trips for hiking, swimming and fresh air. I think what sets me apart from other companies is that it is that “one on one” relationship with their animals. So, they see the same face at every visit. That connection and bond is so important to the animal. Other companies send different people out to take care of the same animal in the same day which can be confusing and give that animal anxiety.
Risk-taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
I think the biggest risk is that I do this on my own and for almost nine years and the universe works it out for me. I rarely come across an obstacle.
I also have clients that are very understanding and flexible. No challenge is too great!! Been extremely fortunate!!
