Meet Tre’Von Williams of Royal Treatment Barber Parlor & Spa

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tre’Von Williams.

Tre’Von, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I was introduced to barbering when my life was at a crossroads many years ago. I was blessed with the opportunity to apprentice under a master barber and learn the skill of cutting hair while getting my first glimpse into the business side of barbershops. The dream to design a shop of my own from floor to ceiling became a reality ten years later. The story does not end there though. Our (my wife Kayla and I) the first attempt was rewarding yet challenging and only lasted for a short period of time.

In 2018, the time came again and we opened Royal Treatment Barber Parlor in Savannah, GA. Prior to RTBP I was working in Statesboro, GA, and commuting daily from my home in Savannah (since 2015). The jump to opening my shop in Savannah was a big one- I was leaving over 12 years of clientele behind and starting from scratch. The first location was a 14 X 14 room inside of a suite with a shared restroom. We have since relocated to a larger building on the southside of Savannah where we pride ourselves on providing a luxurious and intimate experience, serving our clients with the utmost respect and customer service, and quality haircuts every time.

We now have ample space and have chosen to use the space to support other small business owners, host business mixers, and socials at our location. We coined the phrase “More than haircuts, more than a barbershop” in 2020 when we had the vision to expand our services, utilize the space we occupy to support entrepreneurs and artists, network with our peers and provide a space for likeminded individuals to gather.

Our story is one of perseverance and utilizing the pasts lessons to conquer today’s challenges. A visit to our barber parlor is more than a clean haircut, it could mean motivation to push through an obstacle, your chance to vent, or a nice cup of coffee- you decide.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
No, the road has not always been smooth but God has remained faithful. Keeping our faith in God has grounded us when the end seemed uncertain. When we first opened RTBP we didn’t have enough clientele to maintain overhead costs so I started driving Uber in the early mornings and late nights.

Also, contrary to many barbershops that accept walk-ins, we do not. We operate on an appointment-only basis. In the beginning, it was a challenge to deter from the norm and retain clients as we deviated from how barbershops had traditionally managed clients. T

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Royal Treatment Barber Parlor is a full-service luxury barbershop and tonsorial service located on the south side of Savannah. When you come in for a visit you will be the only client present, and that is by design. I am skilled at every haircut, type, and style and strive to make every cut my best cut!

We have recently added a full-service facial room that provides facials, waxing, beard treatments, and more, at Royal Treatment we are constantly pursuing ways to improve the client. If you have a song that you would like to hear, we will play it; if you would like a cup of coffee, tea, or water, we have that for you as well. We not only aim to give you the best haircut but the best haircut experience.

This year we expanded our retail offering to include body butter, lotion, peachwood beard combs, brushes, bath bombs, and premium beard oil to make quality items accessible to our clients. We intend to expand this offering in early 2022 to include a full skincare line, self-care items, and luxury apparel and accessories.

There is no limit to the effort we place in providing exceptional service along with superior products for our clients.

Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
Personality-wise, I was always outgoing, social, passionate, with a healthy dose of competitiveness. I believe these attributes translate to how I live my life and how I lead my business.

My ambition drives me to continuously explore ways to become better, improve, and elevate the experience my clients have while they visit.
