Daily Inspiration: Meet Suzanne Giesemann

Today we’d like to introduce you to Suzanne Giesemann.

Hi Suzanne, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
“Join the Navy and see the world.” The motto proved true and then some to a young woman from a small town in Pennsylvania I have flown on Air Force One with the President. I have been catapulted off the deck of an aircraft carrier. I have met with kings and queens and sat in on top-secret meetings at the Pentagon and on Capitol Hill. It was an incredible honor to serve my country in uniform for twenty years, but nothing can compare to the honor of now serving humanity as a spiritual teacher and evidence-based medium. In my quest to guide people from an emptiness that can’t be filled to a fullness that can’t be contained, I have authored 13 books and written and narrated 6 Hemi-Sync recordings.

I now produce the Daily Way inspirational messages read by tens of thousands each day and host the top-ranking weekly Messages of Hope radio show with the Unity Online Radio Network. I regularly speak at major international conferences, and my many YouTube videos have reached millions of viewers.

I’m honored to be a member of the Evolutionary Leaders Circle, a group of thought leaders from diverse disciplines who come together to help support a shift in consciousness. Watkins’ Mind Body and Spirit Magazine has included me in their list of 100 Most Spiritually Influential Living People. To go from navy officer to inclusion on a list with the Pope and the Dalai Lama is an honor I never could have imagined when I walked the halls of the Pentagon.

I lead both online and in-person classes, workshops and retreats, teaching people around the world about their true nature and how to connect with higher consciousness. I serve as faculty with The Shift Network and with Humanity’s Team, sharing the mission of helping people throughout the world awaken to the interconnectedness of all life.

My ability to communicate with those on the other side has been verified and recognized as highly credible by noted afterlife researchers. My messages bring not only hope, but healing and love that go straight to the heart.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I lived most of my life with no awareness of anything beyond the material world we experience with our five senses. My very left-brained focus was on my career as US Navy Commander and Aide to the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. I cherished my relationship with my husband, also a career Navy officer, Captain Ty Giesemann.

After 9/11, when I was in the last plane to fly over New York City, the Chairman and I observed the shocking devastation there before returning to Washington DC. Upon arrival at the Pentagon, we were faced with the aftermath of the attack there. The results of these horrific acts of terror struck me deeply and it was not long before Ty and I decided that we were ready for a change.

We both retired from the Navy and, seeking peace and a change, we sailed our boat, Liberty, across the Atlantic. While sailing brought its own challenges, we found a quiet life entirely different from our driven careers before 9/11.

The morning we woke to an email urging us to call home right away, we could never have anticipated what would come after. Making the call, we were told that Ty’s daughter, my beloved stepdaughter, Susan, a sergeant in the Marine Corp, had been struck and killed by lightning as she crossed the flight path on her base in North Carolina. That she was six months pregnant with our grandson, Liam, only increased our grief. Seeing my strong, in-charge husband collapse with the pain of this news was stunning. We were crushed, heartbroken.

It was at Susan’s funeral that I experienced something so profound and life-changing that I still marvel at how the agony of heartbreak and grief can become the foundation of transformation.

Looking at Susan’s still body in that casket, I knew with every atom of my being that it wasn’t her. Yes, it was her body and I could see that very clearly. But the real Susan, the essence of my smart, loving, gifted stepdaughter was not there. Somehow, as I looked at the empty shell of her humanness, I knew that the force which made Susan who she was could not be killed. The real Susan had nothing to do with what I saw in the casket.

So where had she gone? What could have become of such a marvelous human being, such a loving and lively personality? I was not brought up in a religious home and had no real conception of an afterlife beyond what I was exposed to in popular culture. But the question, “where did Susan go?” and the certainty that she had to still exist in some form set me on a path of change.

It started with a disciplined program of meditation. I read everything I could get my hands on. I wasn’t going to be gullible. I wouldn’t believe just anything. I was far too analytical for that. But an insistence on evidence and verifiable answers fueled my mission to find out, for certain, where she was.

Not only did I discover where Susan had gone, but the discovery process became the bedrock of my work today. Evidence that we don’t die is the key. But beyond that, we want to know how it’s possible to communicate with those we love after that last breath. How does consciousness continue? My workshops, classes, books, and recordings are all devoted to leading hurting people to the great truth, which is that love and life are eternal. Consciousness survives the last breath, and I share the evidence of that on a daily basis.

When we experience for ourselves that we are eternal beings, forever connected, and never alone, everything changes.

My autobiography, “Messages of Hope,” is subtitled “the metaphysical memoir of a most unexpected medium,” and nothing could be more true. I did not expect this life and yet I know that everything which preceded this work ~ even the pain ~ has brought me to this, my life’s purpose. Teaching and showing, with evidence, that we don’t die has been the greatest honor of my life. Healing broken hearts, bringing hope where there was none, fills my days with joy and gratitude.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Since my transformation from military officer to metaphysical teacher and evidence-based medium, I have written books and taught workshops and classes all around the country. My husband and I criss-cross the country in our bus for nearly half of each year, taking the Message of Hope and healing with us in these workshops and presentations.

Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
The natural beauty of the Lowcounty is wonderful. Because we are outdoors people, being able to hike, kayak, and walk the beach brings great joy.

The humidity and heat can be less charming than the lush environment we live in, but we see it as a worthwhile trade-off for the Lowcountry life.
