Today we’d like to introduce you to Ellen Nguyen.
Hi Ellen, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Hi. I am Ellen Nguyen. I am a nails artist and a manager at LOVELY NAILS in Hinesville GA. I am try to be a good nails tech and run a good team work. I am doing this job since 2016 until now and still love what i do and do what i love. At first, I just thought I was going to work to earn money to pay bills and pay for school, luckily I used to work at a shop where they specialize in design (about 5 years ago), every day I just stood and watched people do their designs. I really like and want to be like them. I have practiced and worked every day, every time I make a beautiful work or learn a certain style I am very happy and I am more motivated. what makes me more successful is that I put myself in the customer, want to make them happy and want to be respected by the customer.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
it’s not easy at all. At that moment I was just 20 years old, this job teaches me a lot, patience and attentiveness. I used to do a simple manicure for an hour and it still wasn’t done. Doing design is very difficult and scientific especially to shaping nails, sometimes I am afraid of cutting customers, I have cut myself many times, but I’m not giving up, I want to be a good nail tech and I told myself I can do it. I can do everything and I don’t want to say no to customers.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a nail tech. I’m good at nails art and the thing that make people know me is I can do most of the design they ask for and I’m honest to them and give them idea, what should they need to do for their nails and give them the best service and the work.
We’d love to hear about how you think about risk taking?
I don’t think my job would be too much of a risk if you didn’t put yourself in the client’s shoes. With a customer I am not only a manicurist, I also explain and always remind the guest to take proper care of their nails to avoid broken nails and sometimes an accident. And the important thing is Smile, breathe, and follow your heart
