Today we’d like to introduce you to Caitlyn Ingram.
Hi Caitlyn, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
From as early as I can remember, I’ve always been drawn to two things, art & people. I loved traditional art, but as a kid of the digital age, I quickly discovered photography and soon was taking self-portraits or forcing my friends and family to allow me to take photos of them as well.
In high school, I was the photo friend. I was the one who received the “can you edit this?” “Will you come take photos of me?” “Which angle?” requests and questions. I, however, didn’t mind as I loved capturing memories, and constantly was taking photos and videos purely because I enjoyed having them to look back on. As I’ve gotten older and life ever changes, I’ve appreciated these photos and videos more than ever would have imagined at 16.
I am a firm believer that a moment frozen in time becomes more precious as each minute passes, and began Bewitched and Bewed as a way to help others preserve those special moments. Thanks to the support of my loved ones, community, and clients, I have been able to pursue my passion for capturing the lives and love of others full time.
Every day is an adventure and I look forward to all that is yet to come!
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
What’s an adventure without a few bumps in the road? As much as I’d love to pretend it’s been all smooth sailing, life alone comes with trials and tribulations, add a freelance business to the mix and you’ll definitely have your hands full!
During the pandemic, I took a leap of faith and quit my job, put grad school on hold, and essentially scribbled out any life plans I thought I had to begin Bewitched and Bewed. I can easily say this was the best and hardest choice I’ve made thus far.
As a freelance photographer, I feel I am always learning, learning to perfect my craft, learning to best connect with people around the world, and learning how to balance personal life and the one-woman show that is Bewitched & Bewed!
Regardless, I wouldn’t consider any of it a struggle but instead growth, and believe I’ll always be growing. I would be lying if I didn’t say I have the best opportunity in the world to share such special moments with so many amazing people, so growth is always welcome!
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a photographer for the alternative, adventurous and authentic. Anyone who knows me has heard me say “I just love, love” and it turns out I love to capture that love for others too! Love is a messy, natural, amazing thing, and that’s how I want to capture it. Most would consider me a love and lifestyle photographer with a moody style.
I love portraits and concert photography but specialize in weddings & elopements. Regardless of what we are celebrating my goal is to provide bewitching imagery to document candid stories. I am all about the weird and unusual, and want to capture all the personalities of my clients! Want to ride a motorcycle to Vegas and have Elvis officiate your elopement? I’ll grab my helmet!
Want to have a Star Wars-themed wedding? Toss me a lightsaber! Want to just sign some papers and eat Chinese food? My favorite! Want to get married at midnight on Halloween? I’m good to go! Point is, I want to celebrate you and what you love, however you choose to do so! The thing I am most proud of is the community I’ve been able to find through this job.
While traditions are great, they’re not for everyone, and I believe it is so important for there to be a representation of love and celebrations of all kinds in the wedding industry!
