Today we’d like to introduce you to Jamie Meares.
Hi Jamie, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started a blog very early in 2005 as an escape from a desk job – and my daily musings on life as a newlywed, projects around the house fashion and pop culture appealed to women like me, who were looking for a creative outlet other than magazines. I started Furbish as an extension of my blog in 2009 with the intention of finding and creating one-of-a-kind finds for my readers and customers to display in their homes.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Major ups and downs. Made money, lost money, grew a huge team, and mismanaged the team. Thought about folding, but found the momentum against the beginning of the pandemic and rebuilt Furbish stronger than ever with the help of a small (but mighty) seriously legit team.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I design the product for Furbish, and I’m the creative director. I’m proud our brand stands firmly in a vision that’s truly unique. And we build on that solid foundation every day
Have you learned any interesting or important lessons due to the Covid-19 Crisis?
Supply chain management! What a time
