Meet Tereasa Tyson of Harvester of Healing

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tereasa Tyson.

Hi Tereasa, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
After the loss of my husband, my life spiraled out of control. I was using alcohol, and other addictions, as an escape from my emotions. I did not want to feel that pain, that grief, that utter loss.

The energy of suppressing those emotions, of not wanting to feel anything painful began to take a toll on my life. We can only suppress our emotions for so long.

I was diagnosed with diabetes, and a multitude of female issues, I became depressed, I suffered from anxiety so bad I didn’t leave my house, and I couldn’t drive a car, because of the medications I was put on to treat my symptoms, and induced seizures.

I was in this vicious cycle of needing another pill to combat the side effects of the one before it. I was on 27 different medications, none of which were bringing about any kind of healing to my body or mind. Definitely not to my spirit and finally my body gave out completely. In 2017, I nearly died twice.

I went completely septic, they found a mass in my uterus the size of a 20-week-old baby, I had signed a DNR. And as you can see, I survived. I was in such a place of hopelessness after surviving that ordeal. Questions arose on why I was here? What was my purpose, if I couldn’t leave behind the anxiety and depression that held me, prisoner, in my home? Why wasn’t I feeling better?

This led me to research what true healing was. And to ultimately become a healer myself.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
After the dark night of my soul, which lasted months. And the healing my body received via kinesiology and energy work. The decision to make a living with my purpose, my calling to be a healer.

Stepping into a world of technology at 48 years of age was a true challenge for me. Embracing Facebook, and Instagram, and making YouTube videos, really pushed my comfort zone. Learning business strategies and how to put yourself out there.

Admittedly, I still find it difficult at times, and now I’m 52. With 2 locations and 4 years under my belt, I continue to embrace this growth and learning experience.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
I am the owner of Harvester of Healing, an energy healing practice that has been in business since 2018. I am also a hospice nurse, an end-of-life coach, (death doula), and a licensed spiritual minister and teacher.

I have trained in several healing modalities, Reiki, Chiron, reflexology, sound, crystal healing, and One Light Healing Touch, which are the teachings I became an instructor of. I’ve also worked with Shaman in Peru. Learning plant medicine. And all these modalities offer their own sacredness to healing your body, mind, and spirit.

There’s not one that’s “better” than the other. But for me, the teachings of Olht had a true calling to my spirit. And the teachings connected all the modalities for me on a deeper level of understanding. It is such an honor to carry this healing modality into the world.

I am also a part of HipCamp, we have a 15-acre farm in Glennville with over 20 private campsites. The land is used as a retreat space and we also have full moon ceremonies each month.

Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
I have to say my husband is my biggest source of support. Not only did he build the sacred space, we love to call the Healing House, but we often joke he should wear a purple suit and drive a gold Cadillac… lol.

He truly believes in me and the work I do. I would also have to thank my family and friends who have supported me in so many various ways.

And finally, Ron and Penny Lavin of One Light Healing Touch for the teachings of this modality.
