Meet Anthony Stephens

Today we’d like to introduce you to Anthony Stephens.

Hi Anthony, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Peace and blessings, water high tide!!! I was born Anthony Stephens Jr. on 10/10/1991, along with my 3 years apart younger sister Ashley. Our mom Sabrina Henderson was unfortunately forced to be a single parent after the tragic death of my father Anthony Goat Man Stephens on July 4th, 1995.

I watched and listened to become more than what today’s society was dooming me as. I was great in school, had an excellent character, and always was the teacher’s favorite!! I was a productive person and ended up dealing with bad people, I was arrested the day of graduation from high school.

I waited 33 months and then was given 10 years of no parole. Doing the term, I mastered the ear for music and peace and then my life changed.

God saw me through and soon after I was released, I started Sakred Records a music group that promotes uplifting thru the same tunes the younger generation can relate to. I’m been in 2 films and performed in over 10 cities, and 40 shows internationally.

I sell merchandise with logos to give back to our community. I’m 30 years old King peace and blessings.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Life gives you two things obstacles and distractions; I’ve been through some dark times.

Dealing with spending cash all the way to staying out of street wars or being in the wrong place at the wrong time in Savannah. Distractions have gotten common but I’ve been avoiding things that I could.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m a cook at hitch restaurant for 2 years night shift. I’ve also worked landscaping on the side as well as painting.

Cooking at hitch has helped tremendously throughout my musical journey.

Cooking fry, grill, dishwashing all to get off and hit the studio. Some days, I’ve worked 3 jobs just to take a trip somewhere to perform.

Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
I’ve been traveling with my heart. Honestly, I wish I did have a mentor music-wise.

My mentors are kings in other subjects, but as a wholehearted mentor no I have none. I’ve just saved my checks and traveled and promote myself.
