Community Highlights: Meet Brittany Crafton of Cosmo B Hair Studio

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brittany Crafton.

Hi Brittany, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
It wasn’t until I was sitting in a lab room, having graduated from HighSchool studying radiology that I realized this wasn’t the lifestyle for me. This year celebrates 6 years in business as Owner and hairstylist of Cosmo B Hair Studio. I have been licensed for 13 years with my career fresh out of graduating from Cosmetology school.

I’m truly a social butterfly so interacting with people and creating was where I belonged. I developed my brand after having bartended for some time and was always creating the best concoctions, and then walah “Cosmo B.”

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
Probably the biggest struggle was at the beginning of my career, transitioning from the classroom to behind the chair. One thing that helped me to overcome that time was the team I was surrounded by at the first salon that I worked at, Charmante’s. In addition, I was blessed with 2 mentors, Krishayla Hall and Andrea Jenkins, that has made a pivotal impact on my hair career and journey.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a licensed stylist since 2009 and a Certified Hair Loss Specialist who’s dedicated to pleasing new and existing clients. I love using my creative mind and talent as you are sure to walk out feeling like a new person.

The biggest thing that sets my salon apart from others is the community and love we have within the salon. Not only do I make my clients look good, but I also encourage great energy and good vibes throughout the entire experience. My services vary from weave/extension installs, natural hair + blowout styles, and also hair loss.

In addition, I offer wedding services, where I work with the hair styling of the bride and bridal party. I’m also partnered with Ahni & Co, which is a wedding and event planning company as one of their preferred hairstylists.

I’m most proud of my brand in that my salon stands for positivity within the community and is always giving back and contributing. For instance, each year I host along with a few other boss women a giveback to a deserving teacher that would enjoy a time of pampering. Also, I sponsor a scholarship each year through Cosmo B Hair Studio that helps to support 5 high school students each year. My goal is to always help + encourage those where I can!

Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
I love how friendly and welcoming the city of Savannah is and how similar the aesthetics are to New Orleans. I like least that I have to travel to enjoy the city as I’m based not far from Augusta.
