Today we’d like to introduce you to Olivia Battles Reap. Them and their team share their story with us below:
Olivia Battles Reap is a producer and casting director from Boston, Massachusetts. Reap got her M.A. in Film & TV and Her B.F.A. in Performing Arts with a Minor in Film & Tv from Savannah College of Arts and Design. Currently located in Brooklyn, New York, and working out of both NYC and GA.
Reap runs Battles Studio & Casting, which is an independent casting and production house that helps independent filmmakers with narrative, shorts, music videos, as well as Commercials work for Nitrous.LTD. Reap is known for her film work on “REMNANT”(2021), “Borderline”(2021), “Perfect”(2020), and “A-CURA” (2021).
In addition, Reap Works as Senior Production Coordinator at MALKA Media Group LLC, on a variety of projects for L’Oreal, and Luxottica, and recently she coordinated LIZZO’s album launch in NYC.
Reap works on projects in all stages of development, and is happy to collaborate on productions of all types.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It’s been a road of some sort. Being raised by a single mom and being interested in the arts basically guaranteed that I need to work my butt off in order to go to college. In addition, being a female producer has been an uphill battle, in a part of the industry that is often heavily male.
I’ve been told many times that I’d be a leader if I wasn’t so pretty to look at, along with other southern terms of endearment. And it took a lot of time and patience on my end to grow to be someone that ignores those comments and opinions, and now I just let my work do the talking
