Rising Stars: Meet Noah Jensen

Today we’d like to introduce you to Noah Jensen.

Hi Noah, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My name is Noah Jensen; I’m a touring production tech, music producer, and professional musician. I’ve had a love for music since age 5, and I’ve known since then that I didn’t want to do anything else in my life. I’ve had a lot of music role models in my life that have inspired me. My mom sang in church, my dad played guitar for my preschool class when I was young, and my cousin, who is not only a great musician, but continues to be a successful businessman and entrepreneur in the music industry. I owe a great deal of my musical inspiration and success to my guitar teacher and dear friend, Steve Taylor. I would not be where I am without the sacrifice, patience, and time that Mr. Taylor invested in me. He’s like family to me and really has been since the start. He pushed me to be the best I could be, even though I hated the idea of practicing at the time, and gave me opportunities to start playing in the worship band at church when I was 8 or 9 years old. Since that time, God has blessed my life with so many opportunities to progress in my career in ways that I didn’t even know were possible. I’m grateful.

During my years at York College of Pennsylvania was when I really began to dive into production. My next-door neighbor in our college dorm helped me find a passion for music production. I’ve been hooked ever since.

While I was in college, I met “Logik” Lee and “AyeDell” Harris, owners of Studio 117 York. What started as a college internship turned into a part-time job, working as a session engineer as well as the music publishing administrator for the studio. Lee and Dell gave me my first real recording studio experience and began to teach me the ins and outs of the business.

After graduating, I moved to Ellijay, GA, a small mountain town about an hour and a half north of Atlanta. Despite being in a rural community, I made frequent trips to the city to pursue my dream. As a result of many late nights and long car rides, I’ve built relationships with great producers, artists, videographers, engineers, and others that are still largely part of my day-to-day life.

In March of last year, I started touring as a production tech. Last year alone, I traveled to over 25 cities across 6 different countries, worked as a tech for world-renowned speakers and some of the top Christian music artists across the globe, and had the opportunity to spend two weeks in eastern Europe performing and facilitating a music production workshop.

It’s all for God’s glory. I’m very blessed.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road has definitely not always been easy. I’ve learned a lot of lessons in the past few years, one of the most important being that every opportunity is not always a good or the right opportunity. That’s a hard pill to swallow sometimes, especially when a bad opportunity follows a lower point in your life. It can seem good, and you may really want it to be a good thing, but at the end of the day, trusting your gut instinct and trusting that God is going to open another door for you is what will teach you how to be patient down the line. Looking back, I wouldn’t go back and change a thing. Everything is a stepping stone to where you currently find yourself, and every opportunity or relationship, good or bad, plays a part in forming who you become.

Thanks – so, what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m currently traveling the country doing large corporate shows. Additionally, I’ve had the opportunity to work with artists like Ben Fuller, Aaron Cole, Taylor Hicks, and many others. One thing that sets me apart in my work is being able to answer “yes” when everyone else responds “no.” Work will keep finding you if you can bring that confidence and reliability to the table.

Last July, I was blessed with the opportunity to travel to Slovakia to teach English. Throughout my time, I played several acoustic performances and had the chance to facilitate a music production workshop.

In addition to touring and traveling, I am currently working with Atlanta-based artist TIMM, producing his debut single “You Crazy” in 2021 and landing two production credits on his debut album “No Love Lost.”

We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
Success to me is being better than I was the day before. Working hard, building genuine relationships, trusting in my abilities, and trusting that God will light the way have not only helped me find success but create it.
