Tameka Mitchell, author, and founder of Maternity Motivation Publishing, LLC, is thrilled to announce the official debut of her very first children’s book. The new title, ‘My Super Mom and Her Sidekick Crew,’ is the first in a series of books highlighting the power and love of family.
Mitchell is a mom, slayer of imposter syndrome, and entrepreneur. Maternity Motivation Publishing, LLC, is just one way “Chief Mom Motivator” Mitchell empowers moms to live their best lives and pursue their wildest dreams while also being passionate parents.
Mitchell has long loved to tell stories, and this led to a deep dedication to children’s literacy. She wants children to feel fearless and confident. According to Mitchell, when parents read to their children, literacy is boosted, and enduring bonds of love and encouragement are established.

We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Being a first-time, independently published author has been a rollercoaster ride of lessons learned.
I was in a space of rediscovery after my second child (who was a year old at the time), keeping communication and relationship as a key priority in my marriage, two small children (4 and 1), and as a full-time Financial Advisor Development Program Design Consultant, my daily goal at times was to remember to stay hydrated.
It was important for me to have a quality and impactful book. The internal pressure/stress was something I had to mentally redirect and remember to stay encouraged. Putting one foot in front of the other and giving myself grace were my action items.
My faith, my family plus my drive to empower a generation of CONFIDENT readers was how I persevered.

Through Maternity Motivation Publishing, LLC, Tameka hopes to motivate mothers and create stories and visuals that would have connected with her as a child and will inspire her own children. Her focus is to produce content that is a tribute to people of color with vibrant, simple messages that encourage family and community conversations.
Her debut book, My Super Mom and her Sidekick Crew was written as a celebration of family, culture, and heritage. Tameka’s mom, Benita, and her grandmother created the blueprint for establishing a nurturing village, and that stuck with Tameka from an early age. As a child, it was powerful witnessing the creativity, discipline, encouragement, and style of these two incredible women in her life. The superpowers they displayed and passed on were something she wanted to celebrate.
My Super Mom and her Sidekick Crew is just the first of the intended Sidekick Crew Chronicles Series, which will explore and celebrate the various roles and superpowers of the “sidekicks” in our families. Also, Tameka hopes to produce a series of postpartum picture books to energize and motivate new moms while they read to their newborns. Finally, Mrs. Mitchell Says will be a delightful read to promote emotional intelligence and accountability.
When Tameka isn’t writing for children and motivating moms, she enjoys spending time with her husband and two beautiful children.
