Today we’d like to introduce you to Guido Flueck.
Hi Guido, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My formative years were spent at Einsiedeln Monastery, Switzerland, where I found my passion for photography. I became a ski instructor in the nearby mountains, and there I was discovered by a Fashion photographer to model. I worked in Europe and NYC and was on the cover of GQ magazine. After 10 years of modeling, I switched to photography and worked in Fashion and Sports for several years until I had a brain tumor which stopped me from my work. During this time, I reevaluated my life and planned a walk from Oklahoma City to Los Angeles to raise money for Cancer research. On the walk, I was fascinated by all of the wildlife and nature, which resulted in changing to nature wildlife photography. I am now living in Bluffton, SC, and have an outdoor gallery and indoor studio. I teach and do tours as well as portraits… My goal is to make people aware of nature and wildlife as well as keep cities clean. With my portraits, I want to bring happiness in their face. In every face you find beauty!
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
It was a bumpy road, Brain surgery, recovery, climbing accident, broken hip, recovery, covid, and the aftermath.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I started as a photographer but see myself working as an artist. I was known as a sports and portrait photographer. I was a skier and speed windsurfer (world championship sotavento) today, I am most proud of my nature wildlife photography and the tours I am making. The tours are very adventurous; there are always surprises.
Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
I like the people; I don’t like the dirt
