Today we’d like to introduce you to Erin Beadle.
Hi Erin, so excited to have you on the platform. So, before we get into questions about your work life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
After working in corporate America for many years, I became a SAHM with the birth of my 2nd son. When my 3rd son was entering middle school, I decided I wanted to become a yoga teacher and ultimately went on to get my professional yoga therapy certification. I began teaching in yoga studios and working with private clients for many years. As my youngest son headed off to college and I was heading into my 50’s I felt a bit overwhelmed and excited with the idea of getting to reinvent myself at this stage in my life. In October of 2021, I launched my podcast – Midlife State of Mind – focusing on all the challenges and opportunities facing women at this time in their lives. My cohost and I are hosting our first international retreat – Reclaiming Wholeness – in Italy in October of 2023. This retreat will be part personal development, part adventure, with a total focus on getting back in touch with yourself. Also, in September of 2022, I began a three-year program to become a functional medicine practitioner with the goal of working primarily with women in midlife, helping them to achieve health, wellness, and vitality over 40.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
With most things in life, there are always struggles. After a year of podcasting and beginning to make some traction in the podcasting space, my first cohost had to take a step back due to changes in family circumstances. She had been our production person – editing and mixing all of our episodes. When this happened, I had to make a choice – either quit or learn to edit myself, and so I made the choice to learn the technical side to podcasting. It hasn’t been easy, and I am still learning how to perfect my craft, but I am glad I stuck it out.
Thanks – so, what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I host a podcast called Midlife State of Mind that publishes weekly episodes dealing with topics that women in face in midlife. The idea for starting my podcast came after many conversations with friends talking about both the challenges and opportunities that they were facing. I’m especially proud of taking it from conception to execution with no prior experience and learning all the technical skills needed to produce a podcast.
Is there anything else you’d like to share with our readers?
I hope that your readers will see that no matter their age there is always an opportunity to learn a new skill, start a new endeavor or just reinvent themselves.
