Exploring Life & Business with Brittney Smith of The Shear Suite

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brittney Smith.

Hi Brittney, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
I started off braiding hair at 13, ventured into doing my own sew-in installs on myself, & then on others. I’ve built a lot of clients over the years; even when I was working manufacturing Jobs, I would do hair on the side. I had gotten to a point where I hated working in manufacturing; I prayed To God about how I wanted out of just being stagnant in that line of work. By lunch break, I trusted that prayer & I walked out. Posted that I would be doing hair full time. God has covered me every since, complete overflow. I went to school in 2016 to get my license, graduated in 2017, and got my first Salon in 2018. The Shear Suite. We’re going on 5 years strong come April!

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
Thankfully I’ve had a rather smooth road, it’s a learning process, especially the business end, but I have some great clients that are understanding and Loyal. The only obstacle would probably be overworking! Knowing when to take time for yourself. I find myself trying to make sure I get every person I can, but I’m only one person. Just separating me time from work time.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
The Shear Suite specializes in hair extensions services and natural hair care services. My one-on-one services, time management, sleekness of my work is what sets me apart from others and keeps my clientele growing.
