Brittany, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Ha! NO! Running a company is never smooth; there are business struggles, third-party vendors that fail you, employee and family priorities, and not to mention things like… the fact that not everyone runs their business well?! I feel as if I have a unique mix of a creative intellect and a type A personality, so, I feel more confident in determining how to read a third-party vendor and if they really have true and good intentions for my couples. Wedding planning is a referral based industry, and we work with those referrals by pre-vetting them to ensure a quality level is maintained for our clients. Sometimes people just don’t have what it takes, as we all know, people are just margin for error, and there are many things that happen out of our control. Speaking of out of control… COVID! Yeah… A “non-essential” hospitality-driven business in a global pandemic… That was a struggle, BUT we maintained our volume even through that, and then in the following years, we have boomed with growth and are so thankful for the time of struggle so we can see just how far things have come.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Be Wed is a concierge-level wedding planning, coordinating, and design business. We believe in a more relaxed process for our clients, one that is fun and uplifting. We are known for executing flawless and fun weddings and events. We becomes like family with our clients and believe that taking a unique route when it comes to planning, creates an even more special wedding day experience. We are honest about expectations which might seem like we are crushing a few dreams every now and again but are better for it because then people know what they’re in for and get what they want within reason!
Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
I want to type, “I don’t believe in luck,” but can’t bring myself to actually say that, after all, I want to make sure I don’t become unlucky! Ha! But truly, I think that divine intervention and hard work is more at play than luck in our case!
