Today we’d like to introduce you to Carla Pastorelli.
Hi Carla, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start, maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers.
Seventeen years ago, I was a recently divorced single mom with three young children. I was working in the culinary industry doing product research and development and recipe testing. The industry wasn’t allowing for a good work/life balance, and I wanted to be present for my children. Being from an Italian family, my love language is food, but my other passion has always been animal care. At the time, I was living in Chicago, and there was a need in my neighborhood for a quality, professional pet care service. I started a full-service dog walking and pet care service in Chicago seventeen years ago. It allowed me to have that work/life balance and have a career that I truly love. Last year I moved to Savannah and decided to continue that work here by opening Snappy Paws Savannah. Walking dogs and providing quality pet care in this gorgeous city is a dream come true.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I have such a wealth of experience because I have been providing pet care services for almost two decades! Being in a new city and starting a new business has its challenges, but I am so excited to be able to provide dog walking services to my new neighbors in Savannah.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I love what I do! We specialize in dog walking and pet care. We are providing an individualized experience to each of our clients. Everyone’s needs are different. Nothing makes me happier than visiting with clients’ pet each day and knowing we are providing an invaluable service to them by giving them peace of mind when they need us most.
We’re always looking for the lessons that can be learned in any situation, including tragic ones like the Covid-19 crisis. Are there any lessons you’ve learned that you can share?
During Covid, I definitely learned how to pivot; I think we all did. Keeping everyone safe and the pups happy during an uncertain time meant keeping on top of all of the latest developments and guidelines set forth. This allowed us to continue providing exceptional service to our clients.
