Today, we’d like to introduce you to Krystal Stark.
Hi Krystal, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I started teaching about ten years ago out of necessity; I needed to be creative with what was at hand, and thus – Crafty Krystal was born! I have been creative in different ways over the years, but recently, I left teaching after nearly a decade to stay at home with my daughter.
It was another working mom who inspired me to run with Crafty Krystal as a service and offering craft kits. It has only been a few months, but I have learned so much and absolutely love what I am doing.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Not a smooth road, in fact I believe I left my map at home and I am roughing it at this point! I have learned so much about trends, what works and doesn’t.
Weather is a huge issue often, wind can be your enemy! But through it all I have met so many amazing other vendors and small businesses that are always kind in offering help or advice, which I greatly appreciate always.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I create craft kits, making it easy to get creative and busy crafting memories. When I am set up at Forsyth Park or at a festival, my table is full of paint kits, star weavers, and other various DIY crafts ready to go. I also offer craft parties for kids and adults. I can plan the entire themed event, be the entertainment leading the craft activities, or create the party favors.
I have done an all-out girly dinosaur for my first birthday and another under the sea full of fish and balloons everywhere. Whatever the event, I do everything I can to make it special and personalized. I take such pride in knowing each kit was carefully crafted. When I work with a client, I do everything possible to make their vision come to life. Not everyone is crafty, so that’s where I come in!
Do you have recommendations for books, apps, blogs, etc?
I live on Pinterest, and I can go down random rabbit holes. From there, it takes me to all other platforms. I love seeing what other creators have made and are sharing. I also love knowing when I have inspired someone else with one of my ideas.
