Today we’d like to introduce you to Natalie Pritchard.
Hi Natalie, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Every journey to recovery begins with a first a step.
For stroke survivors and their caregivers, the road to recovery can be a challenging and lengthy journey. My life took an unexpected turn when I became a caregiver to my 22-year-old son Robert who suffered a massive stroke in 2012 after graduating from college. The stroke left him paralyzed and necessitated with surgeries that involved removing a portion of his skull and placing it in his stomach for eight months. The doctors were uncertain about his chances of survival and predicted that he would be disabled for life if he did survive. However, Robert defied the odds and survived, going on to earn his Master’s degree in 2015 from the University of Central Florida, where he attended on a full athletic scholarship and graduated with his Bachelor’s degree in 2012.
Inspired by Robert’s resilience and the kindness of strangers, I established Daziestreasures in 2019 to support the Robert A Pritchard Stroke and Health Initiatives, a 501c(3) organization. 10% of sales goes towards the foundation. As a mother and caregiver, I am driven to help other families facing similar challenges.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The path has not been without its challenges. Keeping a positive mindset, securing capital, building brand recognition, and earning customer trust have been some of the obstacles I have faced. Through adaptability and perseverance, I have learned to navigate these challenges with confidence in my abilities and the support of my faith, family and community. I bless God for giving me the strength and grace to continue in my journey.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am desinger CEO of Daziestreasures and the president of the Robert Pritchard Stroke and Health Initiative. Being a designer allows me the freedom of expressing myself through my designs and managing my foundation. Running my foundation fills me with so much joy. I am so grateful to God for all that he has done and what he continues to do in my life.
