Today we’d like to introduce you to Lemon Price.
Hi Lemon, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
My journey was entirely accidental. During undergrad, I tookp a course focused on Online Journalism in 2011, that meant blogging. As a fresh 21-year-old, I wrote bar and restaurant reviews for the tourist town I grew up in. That blog went viral, and I landed my first job in a boutique PR Firm before I ever graduated.
That job was absolutely incredible, and I wanted to experience the journalism side since I had gotten my start writing. So I got my master’s degree in journalism and started working for a local newspaper.
While I was there, I moved up and became the features coordinator.
And I loved that. I love telling stories. I loved being involved in the whole process. Anybody who knows anything about journalism would know that it doesn’t pay a whole lot of money. So I had moved to the Philadelphia area and started working for a small marketing agency, where I was the marketing manager. I went back to school and got another Master’s in marketing. I was there for about a year when a friend offered me a job as the CMO of a FinTech company. So I worked for the FinTech company for a year and a half. We had incredible success, and I felt like I had peaked professionally.
I was only 26 years old when I got the job as a CMO, and I didn’t really know where else to go. And so I started a marketing agency by myself and grew that very successfully for years. I didn’t love it as much as I thought I would. I was working a whole lot, even though I had a team, and I just didn’t love my job anymore. So in 2022, I stopped working at my own agency and retained just a few of my loyal clients that had been around since 2015.
I went back to my roots and went back to blogging. From there, I started teaching courses based on the emails and blog comments I was receiving.
Then I ended up partnering with an organization that equips women in leadership. They liked what I was doing, and I started teaching and coaching with them. From there, I launched my podcast. That podcast grew very quickly; it is currently booked until the beginning of 2025. It was in Forbes twice in less than my first year running that podcast. The podcast is now booked until July of 2025 and just hit 2.5% globally
Now I mentor and support women as they grow in their leadership.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I would definitely not categorize my journey as smooth. It has led to burnout at times. There was a point where I worked so much that I ended up in the hospital with burnout and had to be on bed rest for three weeks. I remember taking a client call on Mother’s Day while on my way to the operating room for major surgery because a client was desperate for a solution and insisted on speaking to me. So, I really put myself on the back burner. I’ve dealt with some very difficult clients.
At one point, some men I worked with even vandalized my office because they disagreed with my view on women in leadership. No, I wouldn’t say it’s been easy at all. I’ve had to unlearn a lot of bad habits and mindsets about work ethic and how I define success. Despite the challenges, I wouldn’t trade this journey for anything. It has brought me to a place where I’m confident in who I am and clear about my purpose.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I love what I do now. So I work with women and some men on biblical leadership and equipping them for what God has in store for them. I encourage them to step up, not be held back by cultural or societal expectations, but to lean into who they were created to be.
I live in the Bible Belt too. The work I do is particularly fascinating here because I’ve been told by numerous church leaders in different denominations that what I’m doing is considered an abomination. It’s inspiring for me to see that the work I do now helps women and some men shed limiting beliefs that are not part of their creation or design. I truly love the work that I do.
I love telling unique stories. Currently, I’m working with some incredible women who are making a difference not only in their local communities but also abroad. We’re witnessing more women step onto stages to share their stories and expertise for the first time. Women are writing books, launching podcasts, and stepping out of their comfort zones to pursue their callings and embrace who they were designed to be. It’s a privilege and an honor to be part of something so personal that can sometimes bring up negative feelings in individuals.
We also support many other ministries. For instance, we support Backpack Buddies, an organization that provides meals on weekends for food-insecure children. We’ve also supported organizations working with human trafficking victims and orphanages in Haiti. What I love about my work is that it’s marketplace ministry—it allows me to use the skills I’ve cultivated to help other women develop their skills and make a positive impact in the world around them. It truly is a privilege.
Is there anything else you’d like to share with our readers?
Go for it. Whatever it is you’re called to do, go for it without hesitation. Take radical action even if it seems insane to others. I have learned that whenever I do something new, people pass a lot of judgment and then they ask me how I did it or for a job. Do not let the opinions of others keep you from pursuing what is meant for you.
