Today we’d like to introduce you to Chelsea Weaver
Hi Chelsea, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
The preparation for where I am today began back in 2012. After graduating high school, I relocated to Atlanta to attend my dream school, Spelman College. I started as a psychology major on a pre-law track, intending to go to law school. However, after my first semester, I realized law wasn’t for me, so I decided to stick with psychology, which has always fascinated me. During my time at Spelman, I participated in several experiences that clarified my future path. I joined a mental health organization where we provided peer support, and I spent a summer as a camp counselor at Wediko’s Summer Camp in New Hampshire, a therapeutic program for children ages 8-18 struggling with ADHD, anxiety, Asperger’s, and mood disorders.
The summer before my senior year, I studied abroad in Barbados, where we researched the similarities between mother-child green monkey dyads and human parent-child dyads. After graduating with a bachelor’s in psychology, I moved to New York City to pursue graduate school at Columbia University. While there, I completed an internship at Rikers Island, which was an unforgettable and formative experience. I graduated with a Master of Education in Mental Health Counseling.
After graduation, I returned home to Statesboro, GA, to take a much-needed break. Going from pre-school to graduate school without a pause was exhausting! During this time, I fulfilled a long-time dream by launching my first business, The Dainty Den Boutique, an online women’s clothing boutique. A few months later, I started my first job as a therapist at a residential women’s substance abuse program. I fell in love with the recovery community, and it will always hold a special place in my heart. In 2020, I began working at a private rehab, leading inpatient and IOP groups. By 2021, I joined a local private practice, which gave me access to diverse populations and inspired me to branch out and launch my own practice, Bloom House Therapy and Wellness.
Bloom House Therapy and Wellness was born out of a desire to create a space that prioritizes authenticity, self-discovery, and empowerment. At Bloom House, we provide individual therapy, group workshops, speaking engagements, and wellness events that support women and girls in embracing their true selves. We focus on helping our clients break free from perfectionism, navigate life transitions, and develop the confidence to live fulfilling, balanced lives. Our mission is to create a community where growth, healing, and empowerment flourish, allowing our clients to bloom into the best version of themselves.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It hasn’t been a smooth road, but it’s been a beautifully rewarding one! Graduate school was a major adjustment. The academic expectations and workload was intense, and I also found myself having to advocate more for myself during that season. My work ethic and discipline reached levels I didn’t know I was capable of, and I’m still proud of that growth today! Becoming a fully licensed therapist was another challenge,It was such a long and tedious the process. There was a point where I seriously questioned whether I still wanted to pursue my license because the wait felt never-ending. Thankfully, some licensure requirements have since changed, making the process shorter now.
Entrepreneurship is a struggle all on its own! Honestly, if you know, you just know! However, launching my first business in 2018 taught me so much, and those lessons made things a lot easier when I started Bloom House. That said, there’s always more to learn, and I’m constantly networking and doing research to grow.
One of the biggest challenges I continue to face is being a “jack of many trades.” I have so many hobbies, interests, and passions that for years, I felt pressure to narrow them down. Society often makes us believe we can only focus on one or two things, but that never worked for me—and now, I’m glad it didn’t. Even within my practice, I offer multiple services and cater to different overlapping audiences, and I love that diversity in my work. It keeps things exciting and allows me to bring all my interests together in meaningful ways.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Bloom House Therapy And Wellness?

We are thrilled to continue to curate spaces for our 5th – 12th grade Girls In Bloom!
What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
I Over the next 5-10 years, I see the mental health and wellness industry continuing to expand in really exciting ways. There’s already been a growing emphasis on the importance of mental health, and I believe this will only get stronger. More people are recognizing that mental health is just as important as physical health, and there’s a greater push for breaking down stigmas, especially in communities that have traditionally struggled with access to mental health care.
One big shift I see is a greater focus on holistic approaches to mental health. It’s no longer just about talk therapy; people are looking for ways to integrate mindfulness, wellness practices, and even technology into their mental health journeys. Virtual therapy has become more popular and accessible, and I think we’ll see that continue, with even more creative ways to reach people who may not have had access before.
There’s also an increasing focus on personalized care. People want services that cater to their specific needs, and that’s pushing therapists and wellness professionals to be more innovative in how we approach care. I also think we’ll see more collaboration across fields—mental health providers working with fitness experts, nutritionists, and life coaches—to offer a truly well-rounded approach to health and wellness.
Overall, the industry is moving toward being more inclusive, accessible, and integrated, and that’s a shift I’m really excited to be a part of.
