Rising Stars: Meet Morgan Harvey of JESUP

Today we’d like to introduce you to Morgan Harvey

Hi MORGAN, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My name is Morgan Harvey, and I’m the owner of Magnolia Soul Photography. My journey into photography has been full of twists and turns, starting with my childhood fascination with my granddaddy’s old camera. I spent countless hours playing with that camera, imagining the world through its lens. Determined to make photography my own, I saved my lunch money for an entire year and eventually bought my first camera. That was the beginning of a passion that would shape my life.

During nursing school in Savannah, I carried that same camera through the historic streets, photographing everything and anyone who would pose for me. Photography was my creative escape, a way to capture the world around me, though at the time, I never imagined it would become my career. Nursing was my plan, and photography was just my passion.

Then came Justin, my husband and biggest supporter. He believed in me long before I believed in myself. With his encouragement, I took a leap of faith and launched Magnolia Soul Photography. I quickly replaced my nursing income, and what once felt like an impossible dream became my full-time reality. Justin and I now work together, traveling across the Southeast as wedding photographers, capturing love stories in all their beauty.

Building lifelong relationships with our clients is my favorite part of the job. We don’t just take photos; we share in their most important moments. Whether it’s the excitement of a senior session or the joy of a wedding day, it’s those connections that make this work so meaningful.

A big part of our business also focuses on high school seniors. I love being able to capture this pivotal time in their lives and give them something they’ll treasure for years to come.

My path from nursing to photography was unexpected, but I’ve found my true passion. Magnolia Soul Photography is more than just a business; it’s about telling stories, connecting with people, and preserving the moments that matter most.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I started Magnolia Soul Photography, but it wasn’t easy. For many years, I worked full time as a Registered Nurse while building my photography business on the side. It was a constant juggling act—late nights editing photos, early mornings on shifts, and weekends filled with photo sessions. There were moments when it felt overwhelming, like I was trying to build two full-time careers at once.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
