Today we’d like to introduce you to Trinity Goatley
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Hi! I’m Trinity. I appreciate you allowing me this opportunity to tell you more about who I am, and also about my passion project. I am one of the owners and founders of The Coastal Nanny Agency and The Central Nanny Agency (which is focused inland so I won’t touch much on this). My personal story to how I became who I am today and how the business has grown to be something so impactful is a testimony of determination, hard work, and true passion.
I am the oldest of many siblings. I grew up in a trailer in a small town in Appalachia, with a single working mom who often juggled at least two jobs working as a nurse in ER/ICU. My village was small but special, despite challenges that poverty and having an under-supported single mother can have.
Growing up, I played a huge part in managing the home, children, and pets while my mother worked hard to provide a safe space for myself and my brothers plus food for us to eat. While managing life, I also did dual enrollment at the local community college during high school on top of juggling a part time job, volleyball, and track.
When the time for university came, I decided that I wanted to become a teacher. I moved away to college and my met my husband, who is a local police officer and conducts our vetting and screenings. I went through clinical and student teaching hours at EKU and knew that teaching was a role that didn’t fuel me, as teachers are often under supported within their roles. Teachers are an extremely integral piece of continuation of the development of children, who are literally our future, yet don’t receive the support needed in many capacities.
I began nannying and managing a daycare facility, as I wanted to focus on supporting families and children more one on one versus the alternatives of teaching which can be one on 25! I also created a small business in which I worked within family homes for child, pet, and home care in KY until moving here for more opportunity and change of scenery. It was fate that I met my business partner, Caitlyn who had been managing her own child, pet, and home care business here. We met because of our family clients who were close friends. The children we took care of had play dates often, and we grew close. We knew we wanted to establish something on a large scale, so we conjoined forces to create what we’ve built today.
Our business is a full service agency, offering support to families from all walks of life and dynamics to support their village in any way that they need. Whether it be childcare, pet care, or home care, we have built a network of over 100 providers in the local area (who are vetted through our team) to help in these capacities. It’s amazing how many families we’ve worked with and touched. We’ve seen families grow with first baby or third baby, provided hospice support for beloved pets, watched families upgrade from one house to their next, and so on. We are real, local people and enjoy connecting with our families. It’s a beautiful thing to be able to impact lives in this way.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
There will always be bumps and struggles in life and in business, but the creation overall of The Coastal Nanny Agency changed me and shaped me in ways that I could have never imagined.
Being only 23, in a new city and state with only my husband was an interesting bump. I had to work extremely hard to make connections here and build my own village. Caitlyn who is local to Savannah has been a blessing to my life, and the best business partner that I could have ever wished for. She’s helped to create this business alongside me and when bumps come, we ride them out with ease.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about The Coastal Nanny Agency?
The Coastal Nanny Agency is a complete household service and staffing agency for all child, pet, and home care needs. We are the #1 provider for the coastal Georgia and surrounding areas, voted Best Nanny and Sitter Service of Savannah of 2023, Best of Georgia 2023 for childcare, Best Nanny and Sitter Service of Savannah of 2024, Top Pick Pet Sitter 2024, and Platinum Childcare Service 2024. Our team has been serving the coastal area for over ten years, and we plan to continue to do so for many to come!
Our service list is lengthy, but in short:
Childcare- Short term nanny placement (full or part time care), long term nanny placement (full or part time care), occasional sitter care, night nanny care, night nurse care, doula support, and newborn care specialist care.
Pet care- Drop in care and overnight care in your home.
Home care- Commercial and residential cleaning.
Our team consists of two professional domestic service providers and expert placement coordinators, Caitlyn and Trinity, alongside one local law enforcement officer who is our expert in safety screening and advanced vetting, Garrett.
I believe that there are so many things that set us apart. We are experts in these fields and truly know the ins and outs of our industry. Not only are we experts, we care deeply about our providers and our families. We ensure to give back to everyone who supports us and works alongside us in forms of gifting, annual appreciation events, friendship, community, and so much more. This is not just a business or way to make money, this is genuinely our passion project and that can’t be stressed enough. We won’t forget your children’s names or pets names. We have serviced hundreds of clients and could name off every child that has been in our care by name. Each and every family is important to us. We know the names and backgrounds in detail of every provider and talk to a bulk of them day to day about their life, their positions, and have really close bonds with them. We have providers who call us in times of emergency or hardship for support. Found a lost dog, car was wrecked and needed help to Uber to their position through us, spouses passing away, etc. We are always there. Some of our providers have been with us for upwards of four years! Our reviews attest highly to this. We also value our integrity and communication alongside being personable, we love being able to connect and relate to people from all walks of life and dynamics.
What matters most to you?
This is a complex question that I’m not sure I can list one individual thing.
My village matters so much to me. My family, my husband, my providers, my families through the agency, my business partner. All of these connections are of the upmost importance. My two rescue bully mutts are also highlights of importance.
My resilience also matters immensely, my ability to rise despite the life that I was given and born into is a work of art in itself. I’m so lucky to be where I am today and have worked very hard to be here. I came from very little and with hard work, community, and connection, I have been able to thrive. Growing this business has been a joy that has shaped my adult years and is the most special thing I’ve done in my life.
