Today we’d like to introduce you to Sydney Newsome

Hi Sydney, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I am the visionary behind Syd Nichole. I am from the charming city of Greenville, South Carolina, I am the the CEO and the creative force that drives our brand. With a dual degree in fashion design and entrepreneurship from Central Michigan University, my passion for fashion runs deep. My journey led me to the prestigious Paris American Academy in France, where I honed the art of couture sewing. Under the guidance of the renowned Christian Siriano brand in the bustling heart of New York City, I further refined my craft.

After graduation we started Syd Nichole in Alpharetta, Georgia. We began with accessories and fashion, and later added our flower experiences. Syd Nichole is a mesmerizing fusion of fashion and florals, an enchanting experience in its own right. “We artfully strive to weave the worlds of fashion and flowers to create something truly unique, ensuring each client embarks on an exclusive journey with us, and most importantly, that every client enjoys the experience.” Inspired by the ever-evolving beauty of flowers, our fashion transcends boundaries, offering multiple looks and garments. We always carry plus sizes and our typical size range is XS-2XL. A recurring theme in our clothing design are garments that will transform, allowing wearers to adapt their ensemble to match their mood or occasion.

Syd Nichole’s floral experiences tap into the creative wellspring within every individual. Our flower workshops, popup flower bars, and stem shops empower clients to craft their own floral masterpieces, fostering creativity and self-expression. Among our many workshop choices, at Syd Nichole you will learn to create your own flower arrangement, personalize your own hat, or design your own disco ball.

Experience Syd Nichole firsthand by immersing yourself in one of our interactive fashion and floral workshops or by acquiring one of our versatile fashion pieces.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
We’ve been in business since 2018 and are still learning and changing daily. We launched our first clothing collection in the midst of Covid and had to adapt to a new retail world. People were not shopping retail in the same way. We had to give people a reason to go out and shop again. For us, it wasn’t just about creating a beautiful store but about giving people a lovely experience. I struggled during COVID to find a purpose. Creating and designing brought me so much joy, and we thought others might feel the same way. That is when we launched the Syd Nichole workshop experience, where people can come and be creative in a social environment. Now, everything we do isn’t about making products to sell. It is about creating a meaningful experience for people.

We also experienced hardships when opening our first store in Savannah. The day after we fell in love with our Savannah store location, the building caught fire. This led to a 3-year delay in building our dream place. However, we persevered, and we love our new home.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
Our saying at Syd Nichole is “I only give two F’s, Fashion and Flowers”. We specialize in all things fashion and flowers. From the moment you walk into our store or shop our collection online, you are transported into the fun and creative world of fashion and florals.

We pride ourselves in the unforgettable experience you will have when you walk into our store. When you walk in, you first smell vivacious florals. Not only can you try on and shop for gorgeous fashion, but you can also experience our giant floral installations throughout the store. You can take photos at our flower wall or of our flower bike. You can also sit at our 20-foot creative flower bar and make your own fashion or floral creation.

Alright so before we go can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
