Today we’d like to introduce you to Kathy Elliott
Hi Kathy, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
My Dad was in the military for 20 years. We relocated frequently in the United States and overseas. Being prepared and organized for our moves was essential. It was both our lifestyle and an adventure.
These valuable skills prepared me for adulthood. At work, as an accountant and office manager for automotive dealerships, organizing systems were a must. The volume of paperwork and product depended heavily on organizational systems for success.
Also, at home with my family.
Our home was lived in, cozy and functional. I wanted us to have a place we looked forward to coming home to.
But, I felt like there was something more. I had a deep desire to help, serve and make a difference in people’s lives. I wanted to improve their well-being and start with their lifestyle at home. Everyone deserves to live in a safe, functional space free from stress, overwhelm and chaos that clutter causes. I decided to retire my 26 year career and embark on this new chapter. I use my God given gifts of encouragement, kindness, patience and understanding to enhance my business, Organizer With Purpose.
By reducing clutter, creating functional spaces, and user friendly systems, I am able see the weight lifted, hope restored, and productivity increase for families in my community.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Starting a business is an exciting and scary journey. There is so much to learn and put into action. From the name, branding, the budget and marketing to name a few. Having mentors and encouragement from my family continues to help me along the way. We continuously grow and evolve. I am dedicated to delivering the best quality and exceptional service for my clients.
We’ve been impressed with Organizer With Purpose , but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I love connecting with my clients on a personal level. I am interested in their life experiences and journey. Gaining their trust and being invited in their home is a privilege and honor.
I am a professional organizer and home stager. I offer decluttering, purging and organizing services for any area of the home in every season of life.
–My services can make a positive impact for a busy household. Restoring functional spaces, tailored to their specific needs, allows for creativity, peace and higher productivity. Not to mention, spending time on things they love to do. I can mentor healthy habits for a routine for lasting benefits.
— I can assist an expecting Mom preparing her home and nursery for a growing family.
— I can help a family pack or unpack their belongings for the next phase of their lives.
— I can assist both sellers and realtors in getting homes decluttered, depersonalized, organized and staged (with the existing furnishings) for photography and listing of their home. The benefit of creating a warm, inviting home allows the buyers to imagine themselves living there and adds value.
–I can lend support for families, of elderly relatives, preparing their home to be safe and clutter free as well as transitioning into new living arrangements.
— I can also lend support for families, going through belongings with them, after a loved one has passed.
Clutter can create chaos, stress, anxiety and depression. Navigating through this journey, with my clients, gives them caring support.
Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
–God guides me always.
–My Dad and adult children are my biggest supporters. They are always a source of my encouragement and biggest fans.
–My networking group, Pooler Business Referral Team, is a great source encouragement. We have developed friendships, trust and share our gifts to uplift one another both personally and professionally.
–My church family is very supportive and loving.
