Hi Sarah , so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I moved to Hilton Head 2 years ago from New Jersey. I wanted a change in my life and to try living somewhere new. Once I moved there, we opened Sea Love Hilton Head in Sea Pines. Savannah was always a goal for a second location. One year later here we are! This journey of opening a business has been one the most challenging but rewarding experiences. The opportunity of Sea Love came my way through my business partner, Melissa, who has been my mentor. Today, we have 2 locations and it has been so much fun learning so many new strategies and lessons and meeting so many new people!
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
There have been so many challenges along the way. I did not go to school for business or have much background in managing/leadership, so I have been learning along the way. Luckily, I was able to take a year long leadership class through the Chamber of Commerce in Hilton Head. Through this, I have met so many other leaders in the community and learned new perspectives on leadership from them. And of course, lots of trial and error! Every day I am continuing to learn new things!
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Sea Love Savannah A Candle Bar and Boutique?
At Sea Love, we are more than just a candle bar. We have over 100 fragrances to create your own custom scent blend. You can also create your own label. We use soy wax and cotton braided wicks. We use sustainable products that are vegan, phthalate free, dye free, free of paraffin wax. We are committed to environmental sustainability. We also have a boutique of coastal inspired products such as home décor, lifestyle accents, and our apothecary items.
We host lots of bachelorettes, birthday parties, date nights, girls weekends, and more! Scent blending is a great experience for all ages.
What do you like and dislike about the city?
The community! Since opening Sea Love Savannah, we have made so many connections with other business in the city. There are so many events and groups to get involved in and make lasting connections.
