Today we’d like to introduce you to Kendalynn Thomas.
Hi Kendalynn, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I started out after graduating high school in 2020 , and I quickly got into using a wholesaler and manufacturer with my clothing brand name and ideas and my first collection called the original sold out . I Remember being the first person at my school to start a clothing brand and YouTube and I had always had a love for clothes since I was younger and would sketch clothes and doodle throughout my notebooks. I then did customs and Art on and off again since 2020 until I decided to change my major to fashion design and merchandise in 2022 , today I recently graduated from Houston Community College with my Associates degree in Fashion Merchandising , and I am starting over custom collections and drops only in a effort to eventually open my own store .
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The road has not been easy because it went from doing fashion for fun as a hobby to it becoming the way in which I express myself and how I feel . Then there was a battle about if I should go to school for something I already do and make profit from I soon learned I could do mutiple things at once , I could stay in the fashion industry major in fashion and still get my bachelors in business or administration . I have had a couple cases of me doubting myself and not thinking my work was good enough but I am overcoming it because I know my designs and ideas are good and a gift given to me by god . He wouldn’t have gave me these ideas if they were not for me .
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I can pretty much do anything graphic design , fashion design , project management , event management , custom designs , art logos .I use to be known for my clothing brand and being a creative director my photoshoots and branding . I am proud of deciding to keep going even when things got hard and I lost my spark . I have both the experience and I have the education behind my branding and designs , I know exactly how to keep my customers coming back and these new designs I have are nothing like anyone has ever seen .
What were you like growing up?
Growing up I wanted to be international superstar a singer , dancer and actor and I was always very confident that I would make it and people would say if I had to I could talk to a wall . In high school I always had to have my hand in everything I was class president and voted most likely to be famous . I always had an interest in thrifting and fashion I loved vintage designs and clothing . I enjoyed changing my outfits and buying new clothes every Sunday with my grandma to change up my look .
