Today we’d like to introduce you to Rodrigo Herrera.
Hi Rodrigo, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My videography business started when my sister needed her Quinceanera recorded. I have a camera, and I had been doing content for myself for the past 7 years for my personal training business. So, I said, why not!
After that day I started getting calls for different parties that needed video and photography. Originally, photography wasn’t in my plans but since it was so much requested, I started doing it. Little did I know that I would love doing both.
Fast forward two months after my sisters Quinceanera, I started investing into more equipment, a better camera and more lighting. My business started picking up fast! My skills got better, and my event gigs got bigger. I told one of my good friends Kadeem to join me. I showed him the ins and outs of photography, at least to my knowledge. Now I offer complete coverage packages that include both photography and videography for special events.
My goal is to serve as many people as I can and bring their vision to life. Rodsstudio.com offers a variety of services from Family portraits to Full Event Coverage.
At the end of the day, it’s all Gods doing. God is the leader of this ship, and I will sail where and how he needs me to.
Thanks to Rod’s Studio, I have been able to enjoy life more, meet more amazing people and make my family proud.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The road has been smooth because there has been 7 years behind it. Although I never studied or had in mind to be a videographer / photographer, I always enjoy learning new ways and techniques to make my personal content better. Those 7 years I also spend time learning about running a business (marketing in specific) and that has helped me brand myself through most social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, Tik Tok and YouTube.

I am most proud of just meeting and working with amazing people all around. I take the time to learn about my client, their vision and instead of focusing on what sets me apart, I focus on how I can make my client stand out and how their photoshoot sets them apart from others. Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
Never Stop learning but not all advice is good advice. Just because someone couldn’t do it the way you’re doing it doesn’t mean you can’t. Keep going!
