Today we’d like to introduce you to Portia Bosco.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I started doing lashes in 2017 at Savannah State because i didn’t have any money to get through the weeks at school. I started out doing cluster individuals. All my clients asked me numerous of times to get into mink individuals and i never knew the difference. So i educated myself on the difference. I eventually found a class in Atlanta to learn and further my education on it. I knew i wanted to do this long term so i went to aesthetician school to obtain my license and i because an esthetician in 2019. I have been offering services from lashes, to facials to waxing!
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It actually hasn’t been a smooth road. Everybody sees the money and what being a lash tech can bring. But i have had so many run ins with state board it made me go legit. When i got a shop it was hard keeping and managing employees. When you are a business owner you wear many hats and my issues is I’m really learning as i go. Having a business can also cause you to have a mental and emotional strain on your life. You kind of see yourself of always comparing your business to other businesses and that was a huge thing for me until i really sat down and wrote a plan out to stick to for my business.

I’m known for offering eyelash services in Savannah and Atlanta,Ga. I also offer facials, waxing and tinting. I specialize in LED light Therapy, Dermaplanning & microcurrent devices. I’m most proud of esthetician school. That’s what really sets me apart from other eyelash techs because i am licensed.
Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
I really don’t believe it’s luck. It’s God. I have been in the beauty industry for 9 years and i haven’t had to have a regular job since. I believe without God i wouldn’t be where i am today. He keeps me and my business close and continues to bless me!
