Conversations with Mudita Events

Today we’d like to introduce you to Mudita Events.

Mudita, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My partner and I had been best friends for two years before engaging on the idea of opening an event planning business. As stay-at-home moms, we were eager to create something more for ourselves. We knew we wanted to something that allowed us to continue our duties as moms but also felt a need to serve others in a way that was meaningful. After months of weighing the pros and cons, we quickly found out we shared a passion for creating events for our friends and family. Which is seemingly funny, because we met through PTO/PTA planning events for the school. Through organizing school events, parties, showers, and vacation bible school festivities it naturally paved the way for us to establish an event company in Statesboro. We take immense pride in coordinating events, from small decorations to large-scale occasions.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Absolutely not, with any new business there will always bumps in the road. Mudita Events had it’s fair share of trials and tribulations when starting out. Not only was it hard to find all this new time and childcare with our already packed schedules being moms. We struggled with finding correct pricing that meets our needs as well as our customers needs. Budgeting constraints was a big one because we needed to figure out ways to minimize costs without compromising quality. Managing time on last minute changes was a problem in the beginning but with quick thinking, we learned to work around that in no time. We spent months preparing to become a business and ran through all the scenarios that could happen, all the what if’s but nothing will prepare you for starting a new business and everything that comes with it. It’s one of those things you just have too keep pushing , learning,  and evolving to hopefully achieve success.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
Mudita Events is a event planning company specializing in organizing and executing events like birthdays, baby showers, corporate events, or social gatherings. We manage all aspects of the event, from initial planning to the day of execution and finishing off with clean up. I think we both are most proud of how much we have grown as a team together, our compassion for one another. Its the way if one of us is having a rough day the other steps up and helps out more. We were great friends before, but we see each other in a different light now. We are an amazing team who strives for nothing but the best in each other. Which is what I think sets us apart from others. We want to see those around us succeed, to feel loved, to feel heard. Helping to create peoples most precious moments into a celebration where they don’t have to worry about the small stuff so they can spend more time with loved ones. It’s a rewarding job and so much more than just party planning.

How do you define success?
I think success for us is defined by the meaning of our name. Mudita in Mudita Events means finding joy in the happiness and success of others. We believe you get out what you put into the world. Being kind, cheering for others through life accomplishments and putting others before yourself can be rewarding and fulfilling. When you want others to succeed in life, while you strive to be the best version of yourself, win or lose, That is success to us.
