Today we’d like to introduce you to Riverside Tattoo Parlor.
Riverside, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Riverside got started in 2016, we originally opened as a small shop in the Thunderbolt area. We were the first queer owned and operated shop in our area. Our goal is to provide a safe and welcoming space for artists and clients alike. In 2020, in the middle of Covid, we set our sights on Starland and moved our shop to Bull st. After we were able to establish the initial Riverside location and showed folks that we are a force to be reckoned with, we treat our customers with care and it’s an inclusive experience, that really drew a lot of the talent that we have now. We love being in the creative Starland district with so many other awesome business and shops.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Yes and no. With any business and any group of people you will always have difficulties that come up. You can’t expect all personalities to mesh well. We have always been protective of our energy and anyone that comes on board needs to align with our morals and work ethic. Overall, it’s been a blast. We have a lot of fun and work really hard and show up for each other and at the end of the day what more can you ask for?
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Riverside is a really diverse group of artists. All of them have different backgrounds, interests, styles etc and that’s what makes it special. We are known for doing flash fundraisers, welcoming all bodies and having many artists with different styles. Whether you’re looking for Traditional, fine line, or flash we got you!
What’s next?
We hope to keep on keepin’ on! We plan to continue to show up for our community and artists, to keep making rad tattoos and welcoming all kinds.
