Today we’d like to introduce you to Gracie Gecy.

Hi Gracie, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I was born and raised in the Lowcountry of South Carolina, and I’ve always had a deep
appreciation for the sense of community and connection that defines this area. Growing up
here, I saw firsthand how important homeownership is — not just as a financial milestone, but
as part of building strong, lasting roots. That perspective naturally drew me toward the mortgage
and lending industry.

I’ve also been fortunate to have an incredible role model in my father, Benji Gecy, who has
been the broker and owner of Beaufort Lending for over 27 years. Watching his hard work,
determination, and commitment to his clients inspired me from a young age. He showed me
what it means to build trust, lead with integrity, and make a real difference in people’s lives —
values I strive to carry forward in my own career.

After earning my degree in Business Management and Marketing from The University of Mississippi, I knew I wanted to pursue a
career where I could combine my business knowledge with my passion for helping people. I
started out by learning the lending process from the ground up — understanding the details of
financing, market trends, and client relations. Being a young professional in this field has given
me the opportunity to bring fresh energy and a modern approach to a traditional industry.

Today, I’m focused on building meaningful relationships, guiding clients through one of the most
important financial decisions of their lives, and contributing to the continued growth of the
Lowcountry community that shaped me.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It hasn’t always been a smooth road, but every challenge has been an opportunity to learn and
grow. Early on, I faced the typical hurdles of breaking into a competitive industry — building
credibility, understanding complex lending regulations, and developing strong client relationships
from the ground up.

However, I’ve always viewed those obstacles as opportunities to set myself apart. As a recent
college graduate with a degree in Business Management and Marketing, I bring a fresh
perspective to the mortgage industry. My background has given me an advantage in
understanding both the analytical and relationship-based sides of lending — combining
data-driven decision-making with genuine client connection. Being a young professional has
also allowed me to adapt quickly, embrace new technologies, and approach challenges with
creativity and enthusiasm.

Each experience has reinforced my commitment to delivering exceptional service and finding
innovative solutions — values that align with Beaufort Lending’s approach.

How do you think about happiness?
What makes me happiest is being right here in the Lowcountry — the place where I was born and raised and where I’m lucky enough to build both my life and career. I love being able to help people through my work in the mortgage industry, guiding people through one of the most meaningful decisions they’ll ever make: finding a place to call home.

Outside of my work, nothing brings me more joy than spending time with my amazing family and friends, boating on the Beaufort River, visiting The Grove, and cheering on the Ole Miss Rebels — my alma mater! But above all, I’m happiest in life’s simple moments — sharing laughter, trying new food, and soaking in the sunshine with the people I love most. Those little moments are what make life here so special.
