Today we’d like to introduce you to Steve Kleinhans.
Hi Steve, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Came to visit Hilton Head at 21 years old in January 2002. Went home to Ohio with a phone book and sent about a dozen resumes to different places I thought I’d be able to cut hair. I was calling Hilton Head Island home by St Patty’s day weekend two months later. I posted up at a shop on the north end for a little over three years while building my Clientele. Then opening my own shop in September 2005. I ran my three chair shop for 18 years and moved down the street to my current location a little over two years ago.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
as with any business there were many obstacles. The main one being, finding reliable help. Which has led me to run it on my own and by myself for the last decade.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
No nonsense traditional Barber. I enjoy doing walk ins a few days a week and offer some appointments early mornings and on Thursday all day. I specialize in all hair textures. Very clean and sanitary environment. Still using a straight razor to finish a cut with a neck shave. I take pride in all my work and strive for consistency with everything from my schedule to my haircuts.
