Today we’d like to introduce you to David + Kaitlynn Thayer.
Hi David + Kaitlynn , we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Getting where we are today was definitely not a linear process. Dave’s background has always been landscaping. As a child, his Grandpa owned a landscape business. Dave worked his way up from laborer, to crew leader, account manager, operations manager, branch manager and finally to the owner of our own business. When we moved back to GA after a short time in MI(where we’re from) we came back with a business partner. After about 18 months we bought him out and the rest is history.
Kaitlynn has always been in sales. She got her real estate license while on maternity leave with our 10 year old. For years she didn’t really pursue real estate but rather had it in her back pocket if she needed it. Eventually we made the leap to flip a home after renovating a few of our personal homes and realizing how much we enjoyed it. After leaving a corporate job on a whim she went full time in real estate, and flipping. While flipping we staged our own homes and that part of our business grew organically. Now Kaitlynn focuses on helping clients buy/sell, enjoys helping investors(new or seasoned), staging and continuing to flip.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Absolutely not! While owning our business we’ve also grown our family through foster care + adoption with some very complex cases. That has really put things into perspective for us in terms of the balance between growing a business and caring for our family. We focus on growing our business through connections + referrals so that’s a slower growth that doesn’t happen over night. But, it’s a very intentional growth as we genuinely build relationships.

Our business name/brand focuses on all aspects of our business. Under our logo you will see “Real estate sales, investments + grounds management”
Some of our clients know us for our commercial and residential landscaping + others may know us for our renovations, real estate sales or staging services. But, what all of our clients know is we work with passion, integrity, communication. Especially on the landscaping side, showing up and communicating is half the battle. The real estate side can’t be successful without passion, integrity and communication. We’re helping people make the biggest transaction of their life in most cases.
Dave and Kaitlynn both know all aspects of our business, but we each have our individual passions in areas that overlap for our clients.
In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
With the Real estate market, we can never predict the future. Real estate is an ever changing industry, however, I do expect AI to continue to play a role in gaining new clients. With the landscaping industry there are new advances in technology + equipment all the time. I think we will continue to see ways for our guys to be more efficient.
