Today we’d like to introduce you to Brandy Sanders.
Hi Brandy, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Sister Brandy’s personal journey is marked by redemption and transformation. After struggling with addiction for over 12 years, losing everything and experiencing the cycle of jail and rehab, she found hope through God’s power of grace and mercy.
Now, having overcome her addiction, living sober for over eight years, Brandy walks in the redemption power of Jesus Christ and the finished work of Calvary.
As a respected member of her community, Brandy serves as the Recovery Pastor at Saving Grace Ministries and is committed to sharing the gospel with those who are hopeless and struggling with addiction.
Her leadership role at Mercy’s Bridge Recovery Center allows her to demonstrate the possibility of recovery as her daily walk serves as a powerful example to those around her.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Learning to live a life I don’t have to run from… Every day is a day of hope, restoration and the redeeming power of Jesus Christ.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
At our faith-based recovery residence for men, we understand the struggles and challenges of recovery, and we offer a compassionate and supportive environment to help our residents on their journey towards long-term sobriety. Our mission is to provide a safe and sober living space where men can focus on their spiritual growth and recovery, surrounded by a community of peers who are also committed to recovery. We believe in the power of accountability, responsibility, and support, and we offer a variety of resources and services to help our residents achieve and maintain sobriety. Our program includes daily meetings, individual and group therapy, and weekly activities and outing. We also offer support for residents as they transition back into their daily lives, including assistance with finding employment and housing.
Watching the light come on in someone’s eyes that has never been there.
Seeing others become who God called them to be.
I believe in meeting people where they are and helping the achieve goals set before them.
Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
Seeing others become…. Why??
Because I know what it feels like to be without and lost with no hope.
