Today we’d like to introduce you to Mikaelah Seifrit.
Hi Mikaelah, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
In April 2016, I founded Southern Grace Interiors to provide design services to growing Bluffton and Hilton Head Island SC, with excellence and creativity. Now grown into a collective of interior design professionals, my team and I serve clients regionally and nationwide, working with builders, architects, investors, and homeowners. Strategic relationships with Montage and Palmetto Bluff, and responsive communication, while producing quality, thoughtful, forward-thinking designs have set us apart over the past decade in business.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Entrepreneurship is rarely, if ever, a smooth road. Being good at your chosen career skill does not make one great at creating or operating a company. As Southern Grace Interiors grew from a tiny owner/operator startup, and added staff members and bought an office space, each new growth phase demanded new processes, and new skill-sets. However, nothing challenged us like 2020-2022. The whole world was impacted by the pandemic, but the home design and home furnishings industries dealt with more challenges than most. Freight delays, labor shortages at factories and ports, foam shortages, and so much more, meant that we were ordering products and waiting for over a year only to find out they were never coming, incomplete projects, frustrated clients, and all of it outside our control. But we pivoted, revised processes, shopped local inventory, and worked longer hours to do the best we could to help our clients through it all.
We’ve been impressed with Southern Grace Interiors , but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?

We specialize in a variety of design styles, never just one aesthetic. When working directly with homeowner clients, our goal is for your home to look like the best version of your personal tastes. When working with builders or on commercial projects, our goal is to produce a creative and detailed design that aligns with the budgetary allowances. We are organized, experienced, detailed, and creative.
We’d love to hear about how you think about risk taking?
Not a big risk taker. Calculated, minimal risk person.
I am a wife and mother before I am an entrepreneur. I have always operated my life with the following structure: God first, Family second, Career third. Viewing my decision-making through this lens simplifies most choices.
