Today we’d like to introduce you to Marcus Bennett.
Marcus, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Our story started the way many small businesses do—out of a real-life experience. In December 2023, we were planning our daughter’s birthday and decided to book a mobile gaming trailer. Like many parents planning parties, we quickly discovered that the process wasn’t always as smooth as we hoped. Communication was inconsistent, confirmations felt uncertain, and the whole experience left us wondering if everything would actually come together on the big day.
At one point my wife looked at me and said, “We deserve better.” A little while later she came back and said something even more powerful: “We can do better.” That moment turned a frustrating experience into an opportunity.
Instead of just accepting it, we decided to build something ourselves—something centered on the kind of professionalism, communication, and reliability we wished we had experienced as customers. We designed and built our own gaming trailer with the goal of creating a fun, high-quality experience that families could feel confident booking.
Great entertainment is fun, but great customer service is what makes families feel confident booking it. We built our business on the belief that our community deserves both. Today, our family-run business brings a fully equipped gaming experience directly to homes, schools, and community events throughout the Savannah area.
What started as a desire to create a better birthday party for our daughter has grown into something much bigger: a commitment to delivering memorable experiences for families in our community.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Like most small businesses, it hasn’t been a completely smooth road—but the challenges have helped us grow.
One of the biggest hurdles early on was simply awareness. A mobile gaming truck is still a relatively new concept for many families in our area, so a lot of our early effort went into helping people understand what the experience actually is. Once families see the truck arrive and watch kids step inside to a full gaming setup, it usually clicks immediately—but getting that first introduction took time.
Another challenge has been building trust and standing out in a competitive entertainment market. Parents have a lot of options for birthday parties and events, so we’ve focused heavily on delivering a high-quality experience—reliable service, great equipment, and making sure every event runs smoothly. Word of mouth and positive reviews have been huge for us as the community gets to know our brand.
Finally, like many small business owners, wearing multiple hats has been part of the journey. From marketing and scheduling to running events and maintaining equipment, there’s a lot happening behind the scenes. But the upside is that we get to see the direct impact of what we’re building—when kids come out of the truck smiling and parents tell us it was the easiest party they’ve ever hosted, it makes the effort worthwhile.
Every challenge has pushed us to improve, and it’s exciting to see how the community has embraced the experience.
As you know, we’re big fans of Wolf Mobile Gaming. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Wolf Mobile Gaming is a family-owned, mobile gaming trailer business that brings a fully equipped, climate-controlled, high-capacity gaming experience directly to homes, schools, and community events. We specialize in creating stress-free, immersive experiences for kids and teens (and adults), complete with multiple console options, Virtual Reality, cross-platform play, and hands-on guidance from our Gaming Coaches; they make sure everyone gets involved, giving kids a place to play together, compete, and have fun in a high-energy environment.
What sets us apart is our unwavering focus on professionalism, communication, and customer service. Unlike typical event rentals, we stay in close contact with families from booking to event day, ensuring they feel confident and supported every step of the way. Parents already have enough to deal with when planning an event, so our goal is to remove the stress. We handle the setup, the games, and the flow of the party so families can relax and enjoy the celebration instead of worrying about entertainment.
Brand-wise, what we’re most proud of is the trust we’re building in the community. Families invite us to be part of their celebrations, and when they call us back for another party or recommend us to friends, that means everything.
At the end of the day, Wolf Mobile Gaming is about creating experiences. When the truck pulls up, kids know something exciting is about to happen. And when the party ends, we want families to feel like it was one of the easiest and most memorable events they’ve hosted.
Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
If I had to give advice to someone starting out, I’d say don’t wait for everything to be perfect before you begin. You can plan and research all day, but there’s no substitute for getting out there and actually doing the work. Once you start operating, you’ll learn things you could never have predicted on paper.
Another big lesson is to stay focused on the customer experience. Equipment, marketing, and logistics all matter, but at the end of the day people remember how you made them feel. If you consistently deliver a great experience, word of mouth will become one of your most powerful growth tools.
I’d also say be prepared to wear a lot of hats. In the beginning you’re not just the owner—you’re the marketer, the scheduler, the operator, and sometimes the maintenance crew too. It can be a lot, but it also gives you a deep understanding of your business.
The one thing I wish I understood earlier is that growth takes patience. Don’t underestimate the power of building your business around your values. Building a reputation in your community doesn’t happen overnight. But if you stay consistent, keep improving, and treat every customer like they matter—because they do—things start to compound over time. For us, professionalism, reliability, and inclusivity weren’t just ideals—they became the foundation of everything we do. Starting a business is a lot of work, but when you focus on delivering quality and service above all else, you build trust, repeat clients, and a reputation that will carry you forward.
