Daily Inspiration: Meet Jordyn Edgerton

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jordyn Edgerton.

Hi Jordyn, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I have always been into fashion and picking out fun outfits to go to school. In my first year of college, I decided to turn my Instagram into my personal outfit page. I set my phone up on my mini-fridge in my dorm and take pics of my outfits and make lookbook videos of either my outfits of the week or themed lookbooks styling for an event or styling a piece in my closet.

From then, I honed in on what content creating was. I started to take better pictures outside, I bought a tripod and started taking my own pictures. Through the years, I have fallen off getting unmotivated and having many imposter syndrome moments changing my style and aesthetic but I could never bring myself to give up because I truly loved taking pictures and sharing fashion through my Instagram.

I started a Youtube channel my first year of college, I haven’t been the most consistent on there but it is my plan to be a more “full-time ” content creator across Instagram, Youtube, and TikTok once I graduate college in a few months.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has been an extremely bumpy road. My biggest struggles have been the internal battle with myself. I would notice people who started at the same time or even later than I did and gain so many followers.

I would get super discouraged because I felt I wasn’t getting the recognition I deserved. I would also do follower purges where I would remove ghost and bot followers and I would be devasted with the loss that left me.

I have been working at this content creator thing for four years now and I am still not where I ideally think I should be but I have to tell myself I’m doing what I like to do then that should be enough. Fame and followers will come with time and dedication.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am a fashion design student currently living in Savannah, GA. I consider myself a quirky, petite, fashion enthusiast who loves personal style and thrifting, and vintage. I create content prominently for Instagram by posting daily on my feed and Instagram stories.

I am beginning to expand my content to Instagram Reels/TikTok and YouTube. I specialize in thrifted fashion and personal style and recently I have gotten into styling short films, photoshoots, and music videos. I love the idea of thrifting snd styling for other people. In recent times my personal style has developed into a bit of a maximalist aesthetic.

I love unconventional layering and creating super fun and “unhinged” outfits. I am most proud of the 99% thrifted wardrobe. Pretty much everything I wear is thrifted or vintage and I love that most about my style. I am unapologetic about my personal style and I dress for no one but myself!

Alright so before we go can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
Anyone who wants to work with me can reach out to me through my Instagram via DM or my email which is also listed on my Instagram;
