Today we’d like to introduce you to Shantrice Harmon.
Hi Shantrice, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers?
I am a mother of 11 beautiful children and was born and raised in Lyons, GA, Having a passion for obstetrics and anything to do with being a doctor lol I decided to venture fully into the medical field when I was 28.
There were a lot of obstacles and hardships, with motherhood, going to school, and pursuing my personal dreams of being a business owner and Doctor.
After a life-threatening experience involving hospitalization and fear of death at the age of 32, I lost everything I worked hard for and felt that I could never recover. Through family support, my current fiancé, and God I was able to piece my life back together day at a time. I began APT Phlebotomy Training in 2018 with aspirations of it becoming a full-scale collection laboratory.
I am currently in school online pursuing my Bachelor’s Degree in Pre-Med Health Sciences entering into a Doctrine of Health Education, with Purdue Global. I am currently organizing a new business venture titled Boss Business Babes’.org, which is a business training center with resources and training to help upcoming entrepreneurs and business owners obtain and maintain success.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The journey has been challenging by far.
The most challenging is balancing entrepreneurship and family life. Learning to find the balance and leverage needed to prioritize and effectively stretch my time and presence was mandatory, lol.
Another challenge would be enduring the trials of entrepreneurship and knowing that along the way it will be hard and not every day will be a super successful day. Not giving up and pushing forward no matter what is essential!
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I specialize in laboratory specimen testing.
I provide diagnostic testing to hospitals and doctors for diagnosis purposes. I am at the start of treatment for care, my services are very crucial. I am most proud of my company as I pride myself on quality work, service, and training! My motto is “Labwork is not Science, it is an Emotion.”
I also am an author of several coaching e-books. My most recent is “Manifesting Your Dreams”
Risk-taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
I am not a risk-taker, but I am actually learning to be in the business world, lol.
The biggest risk I have taken so far is not proctoring my time and patients accordingly. Time management is important and the little things affect a business’s image and reputation.
