Today we’d like to introduce you to Victoria Atkinson.
Victoria, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I started teaching myself how to do nails during my senior year at Georgia Southern in 2019. I loved getting my hands and feet done but didn’t like the way I was being serviced so I decided to learn how to do them myself.
I went to school to get my license in 2020 when the pandemic started and began working at a nail salon in midtown Atlanta to gain experience. Then, I moved to my hometown and opened a small shop to service clients for 10 months.
That was the best 10 months of my life experiencing life as a full-time business owner. Now I am back in Statesboro trying to build my clientele and get my brand out there so I can start servicing new clients in the area. Back to where it all started!
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely has not been smooth. It was tough staying consistent and on task while in school.
Procrastination is still my biggest downfall in succeeding. I struggle with pushing myself to my fullest potential because if I did, my name would have been big by now because I have the skills and gift to be big.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a nail artist but I specialize in luxury pedicures.
I have created signature pedicures that speak for my brand in a Royal aspect. Although I offer hand services, I am very proud of my pedicures because they are my top sellers and they guarantee satisfaction to each client.
I feel my most confident while doing them. I feel like the pedicures I have created set my brand apart from others.
Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
Peace and prosperity make me very happy. Having peace of mind and being prosperous in all aspects of life is my ultimate goal in life because that is what genuinely gives me joy and motivation to keep going!
