Rising Stars: Meet Elijah McCreary II of Atlanta

Today we’d like to introduce you to Elijah McCreary II.

Hi Elijah, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
UNULUXE

Elijah McCreary Jr., fashion designer, music artist and graphic designer, started the UNULUXE Clothing Co. in 2014. Since then, the successful business mogul has distributed clothing apparel across the world.

After coming up with an unique idea to the urban luxury industry, Elijah began to execute a hidden message within his soon to be global brand. The message of this brand was to incorporate kingdom like symbolisms that promote excellence and self awareness. The brand logo is a lion sporting a crown, monocle, and bow tie that references royalty. A Crown representing having authority as ruler, Monocle representing clear vision of executing your dreams and the Bow Tie signifying dignity and prestige. The majestic lion is a representation of being King of your own world.

“The UNULUXE brand has been an awesome journey” says the Alabama native, creating and starting the brand from Mobile AL. He has now relocated to Atlanta GA, to expand the apparel company in a more competitive market. Shortly after relocation, the UNULUXE brand was featured in New York Fashion Week in 2019, gaining the attention of cast members of VH1’s Black Ink Crew, with the brand being featured in episode 6. DJ Mannie Fresh (of Cash Money Records) also wore the brand’s tee on the BET HipHop Awards show.

During the pandemic, the brand grew exponentially due to the rise of online shopping. UNU was able to capture their consumers with the quality of products, fast shipping, and presentation of packaging.

The UNULUXE mantra “Garments of the Opulent” (GOTO) is a brand for those who are opulent in Dreams, Love, Wisdom and Creativity.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The road to accomplishing a successful is always challenging, but researching was the main ingredient to overcoming those obstacles.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
By nature I’m a creative who started the brand with a 20 year graphic design experience. Working for other businesses and startup brands has allow me to create my own design firm as well as build a clothing company. My design company is called “eMJR designs” where we specialize in brand building for small startup businesses. Having these 2 companies alone has allowed me to shape and grown my network and brand globally.

In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
We plan to continue to expand the UNULUXE brand to more global markets. Also creating real-estate of our store in the Meta Verse. We plan to provide black luxury digital art with our new NFT projects that is in the making currently.
