Today we’d like to introduce you to Kathi Roberts.
Hi Kathi, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
My story is pretty simple. I’ve always enjoyed helping others and seeing them happy. As a single parent, you get that firsthand with your children and you do your best to make every moment special for them, especially for their birthdays and special occasions. So in 2017, I planned my only daughter’s wedding, from beginning to end, obtaining her input as I planned. If you’ve ever been a part of a wedding, you know that it can be very stressful, small details matter and there are a lot of moving parts. In my planning, I noticed that I was really enjoying what it took to get things done and that I could actually do something like this and I amazed myself. My daughter’s wedding went off without a hitch, everything was beautiful and stressless for her. The lightbulb went off in me and I realized that I could do this for more than just my daughter. So after some years of pondering the idea, planning family parties and events along the way, I decided to step out on faith and put my ideas on paper and into reality.
In August of 2020, I created K Rob Event Management, LLC, a luxury event management firm that creates “tailored for you” timeless experiences. We partner with our clients to bring their visions to life and elevate the stress of planning. We provide planning services for lavish events such as weddings, anniversaries, baby showers, social events, etc, and they are tailored to the client’s needs and small details. They embody style, elegance and the true essence of luxury. My clients are unique and I want their events to reflect who they are, elegantly.
Here I am today, 2 years in and still enjoying the task of providing a stressless “tailored for you” experience for my clients and loving every moment of it. Your journey to a luxury event begins with K Rob Event Management.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Although I enjoy what I do, It has not been a smooth road. In my journey of discovering how I wanted to present my business to others and exactly what I wanted to provide my clients, there have been times when I felt like I couldn’t do this. But something in me would not let me quit. So I did research, took classes, took part in Zoom meetings, collaborated with other event planner/decorators and really educated myself on event planning, event management and decorating. I wanted to be able to answer any questions that a client asked. I struggled with obtaining clientele, knowing what targeted audiences I needed to cater to and just getting my business out there for others to know that I’m here and ready to provide my services to the world aside from word of mouth. In trying to overcome the struggle, I obtained a brand ambassador. This was the best thing that I could have ever done. She has assisted me with marketing, logo designs, web design and a website. All of this has made what I do, stressless for my clients.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am employed as a manager Monday-Friday. I’m known for my willingness and ability to assist others and the patience that I have with “every” customer. What sets me apart from others is my knowledge and understanding of my current role and my experience that affords me the ability to assist customers with anything. I can’t wait for what is yet to come.
