Check Out Ana Gutierrez Padilla’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ana Gutierrez Padilla.

Hi Ana, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.
Art has always been a part of my life but I didn’t start creating edible art until my daughter was born. I wanted to make her birthday cake so I learned to bake! I started with cupcakes, then cakes, cookies, and cake pops.

I baked for family and friends for fun and soon after started my own baking business Unforgedible Art, a licensed home bakery. Years later, I’m still enjoying my passion for art with unique, edible creations.

I have expanded my business by adding handcrafted molds for cake decorating and offering cake pop decorating classes. I love that I’m able to express myself artistically with custom orders and edible art tutorials.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
Definitely not. As a business owner, there are so many bumps on the road. You’re lucky if you have someone to guide you at the beginning but for the most part, you live and learn from your mistakes.

I think the biggest struggle for me has been balancing family life and running a business. Like many bakers, I’m a one-woman show, we have a lot of different roles to fill, we’re bakers, cake decorators, web designers, dishwashers, accountants, content creators, and the list goes on.

Time management is key and edible art can be very time-consuming. I put so much heart into everything I make which is why I have learned to limit my custom orders and prioritize my goals with business and family.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I specialize in creating custom edible art that’s often referred to as “too nice to eat” by clients. I offer hand-painted cakes, cookies, and sculpted cake pops. I love it when my clients give me the creative freedom to create unique designs for their events. It’s an unforgettable experience for both!

I also sell handcrafted molds that can be used to decorate food or with polymer clay. All of my designs are handcrafted by me. I create and share video tutorials for ideas on how to use them. They are especially helpful in speeding up the decorating process for home bakers.

Another aspect of my business is content creation for other businesses. I collaborate with companies around the world to promote their products with my cookie and cake pop videos. You can find my video tutorials on Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube.

Alright, so to wrap up, is there anything else you’d like to share with us?
Support small businesses!

You’ve heard it many times before, when you’re supporting a small business, you’re supporting a dream and that’s absolutely true! I always dreamed of being an artist growing up and I finally get to express myself artistically.

There are different ways to support a small business simply by shopping local, giving referrals, and sharing their posts on social media and reviews. Social media plays a big role with small businesses and your support really helps!
