Today we’d like to introduce you to Bo Foto. Them and their team share their story with us below:
At 11 years old, with her small point and shoot disposable camera, Bo started her passion for photography. She has since studied at Savannah College of Art & Design, been published in numerous prints, and featured in various art shows. Her unique vision appears in her portraiture work. She’s drawn inspiration from her hobbies of burlesque and dance, as well as the mysterious nature of the macabre. At a young age, Bo had to accept that our human experience is finite. With that, she wants to capture the light and memories for her fellow humans to cope with the ever changing world we inhabit.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The most difficult thing for me is realizing my personal power and talents. Having confidence has always been a struggle, and day by day I am gaining more and more with constant support from my community.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a professionally trained fine art portrait photographer and artist. I enjoy highlighting dark beauty and unique individuals. I often photograph burlesque and fetish artists. I have been using a camera medium since I was a young child, and it has always been my favorite tool. I also look to how I can improve my art and expand my awareness of myself and others. I hope that my photography can move people in an emotionally deep way.
How do you think about luck?
My artistic talents have always been supported by my family and friends. I believe the results of my success come from my pure passion for the medium and the continuing support I receive from those around me.
